"Tell Me Lies, tell me sweet little lies..."
Stimulus Bill Broke 7 Obama Promises via Sweetness & Light
1. Make government open and transparent.
2. Make it "impossible" for Congressmen to slip in pork barrel projects.
3. Meetings where laws are written will be more open to the public. (Even Congressional Republicans shut out.)
4. No more secrecy.
5. Public will have 5 days to look at a bill.
6. You’ll know what’s in it.
7. We will put every pork barrel project online.
Posted by Vanderleun at February 15, 2009 5:22 AMFour or five miles up along the road to serfdom is a good place to pull the car over for a breather, and figure out the way ahead. So far, most of the non-right wing criticism of the President's failure to live up to his campaign rhetoric has been of the tiptoe-type introspection type; hopefully the experience of this bill will jar some people into opening their mouths and getting a bit more aggressive on the editorial pages. Personally, I'd like to see some serious foot stomping the next time the government rolls out some cobbled-together piece of legislative mediocrity like this awful bill.

Posted by: Fat Man at February 15, 2009 6:08 PMHey, you just can't see that these were not lies. You just misinterpreted the meaning. See, all those promises apply, except in those cases where its really, really important to force this legislation down the public's throat. If your goal is to build the perfect Big Government state, you gotta break a few eggs, and promises too.

Perhaps it's OK for Obo to curry favor with delicacies and treats if he wishes...

That make 8 broken promises.

As for the Obama circus this is getting fun. Aside from wanting to cry over the state and future of the country, I'd say these last few weeks have been very entertaining. Liberals have stopped defending this stuff and now all they do is squirm.
