ימח שמו וזכרו: "May his name and memory be obliterated."

ימח שמו וזכרו Yemach shemo vezichro. ("May his name and memory be obliterated.")

Killer: [shouting] I don't wanna talk to you! Now you bring in the television cameras in here now! C'mon, bring 'em in!
Cobretti: Can't do that.
Killer: Why?
Cobretti: I don't deal with psychos. I put them away.
Killer: I ain't no psycho, man! I'm a HERO! You're looking at a fuckin' hunter! I'm a hero of the New World!
Cobretti: [shakes his head] You're a disease - and I'm the cure.

After some reflection I have decided that I no longer want to have the name or the image of the disease on this page for the immediate future. I, for one, cannot stand the sight of the disease, dead or alive. Accordingly I have unpublished several posts of the last few days in the main column.

Items in the sidebar, Thinking Right, may or may not remain until they cycle into the archives.

"Unpublishing" items does not delete them from the archives, but only makes them not invisible on the main scroll. The links to those items will still work.

Those links are to be found HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE

The body in question disease may or may not be referenced or discussed here in the future depending upon circumstances at the time. For now my revulsion outweighs my need to comment directly on something that is to be found elsewhere in massive quantities.

The disease in question is only one small part of a much much larger problem. Focusing so much on his death these last few days (as the dems/media BIRM have done in order to 1) glorify obama and 2) play down the 'terrorist' threat- remember their euphemism for terrorism?) diminishes the huge fight we are in for civilization against the death cults of islam and socialism (as the two have converged in so many respects and regions).

Well, bless you! It doesn't seem to matter, does it, whether or not we cry it from the mountain tops or right into their ears, they don't want to know the truth, and maybe they never will. Anathema is a good anthem for the here and now.

Fully understand, but unringing the bell here does not stop the reverberations in the Mojo Media.

They are now getting up the nerve to question why we shot an unarmed man.

No trial; No JUSTICE!

Posted by: Peccable at May 4, 2011 11:20 AM

Good on you, sir.

Posted by: arcs at May 4, 2011 12:18 PM

Peccable, I hope you are being sarcastic. However: The purpose of a trial is to determine the guilt or innocence of the accused - noting that said guilt or innocence is with reference to the laws and moral standards of the society holding the trial (example; someone killing Jews in Nazi Germany would probably be said to be innocent by Nazis).

Now: Is there any doubt whatsoever of OBL's guilt? And if not, what is the point of a trial? Practical disadvantages of a trial of OBL would include immense cost, the possibility of terrorist atrocities aimed at getting him released and the media circus giving publicity to radical Islamists. Also the appearance of weakness.

So OBL on trial has many practical disadvantages and no moral advantages.

Trying "he who must not be named" would be a risk for the other "he who must not be named" in 2012. And based on the approval ratings boost, the latter ordering the assassination of the former was a bullseye for his reelection campaign. But, hey... at least the latter released his long form birth certificate because it wouldn't be right for a fraud to get get credit for avenging 9/11 or vindicating waterboarding, now would it?

Fletcher, to answer your question, you'll have to ask the erstwhile Barney Miller cop now USAG why he thinks a trial for any jihadi ragheads is necessary.

I would have stuffed bin Bozo with pork chops until his stomach burst, then dropped him into Teheran.

"They are now getting up the nerve to question why we shot an unarmed man."

That's the beauty of not being a liberal: moral clarity. Shoot the mother down like a mad dog, and tuck into a hearty and well-deserved breakfast afterward.

Having said that, I think I will enjoy more than a little schadenfreude when the Left comes after Obama for not reading bin Laden his Miranda rights. History is replete with examples of radical morons who end up being consumed by the evil they have unleashed. Think Robespierre.

Do you have a cigarette?

Regarding recent events, one good article somewhere down the road could well be worth entire gigs of scribblings now. And if so, Gerard will probably be the one to write it.

Was anyone else here in fogtown blown away by the gorgeous weather and the superplus surfeit of snafus on the roads today?

Posted by: raincityjazz at May 4, 2011 8:13 PM

When I first learned to use weapons, I was taught to only shoot if the opponent is armed. I still live by those lessons.

However, another question comes to mind. The question does not make what happened right or wrong about shooting unarmed enemies. Most terrorists kill civilians, which include children who are unarmed. Seems to be their style.

Just sayin.

Life is not fair. Life is not just. Life sucks most of the time, but it is because we are human and we will continue to screw up.

There have been many times in my life I wanted to "take care of business" in my own way. So much in fact, that I have been dealing with this with the help of the VA. Fortunately, the fact remains, if I would "take care of business" would the action undo a previous wrong?

Unarmed men have died. So be it. It doesn't change the fact so many suffered under their hands in the past or will make matters any better. For every ass hole taken out, there will be another to take his/her place.

But we have to move on and learn from our actions.

Meant to write, unfortunately, the fact remains,....

My suggestion, let's stop sending money to Washington until they stop sending money overseas. Especially to countries who stab us in the back. Let's keep our money home and start to take care of business by taking care of our own.

Posted by: Cilla Mitchell, Galveston Texas at May 5, 2011 4:28 AM

Cilla, we'll stop sending money overseas when we stop sending bleeding hearts and knee jerks to DC. Until then, what's out front in a free fire zone is the enemy; leave no one behind you alive lest you get shot in the back.

Thanks Gerard,

Sometimes, (and even often these days) it is indeed immoral to present arguments against the murderous philosophies of evil men. Even to contend, somehow, is to give respect to unquestionable evil.

Peccable said. "They are now getting up the nerve to question why we shot an unarmed man."

Do the liberals really believe that murderous men earn and deserve report or respect? Why is it that the regressives do not bother to question and even condone the slaughter, with middle age torture tools, of unarmed infants at the rate of nearly 4000 a day in America alone?

It is near the end of our age and should be the end of our conversation, when murderous lawlessness is justified and is condoned by so many. You're right Gerard, even the media assigning the likes of OBL to Hell, is much too respectful of his serpentine treachery.

But ... but .. but one of them was mine. I am made to suffer along with the women and children? The humanity. But I know how you feel.

Posted by: Rodger Schultz at May 5, 2011 1:14 PM

Geez, Gerard, you had me going there for a minute. When I read the first part of your post I thought you had taken all of the Obama stuff down. Now I see that it's just the OBL stuff.

"..."They are now getting up the nerve to question why we shot an unarmed man."..."

Which is but one of the reasons I cannot believe we did. The Regime's handling of all this from the first announcement only serves to strengthen this belief.

It can all be summed up in one simple concept, however: Intel. Voldemort's head likely contains moree intel than we could gather elsewhere in a century - only a fool would put a bullet through that!

No - we took him out alive - maybe slipped him a fast-acting anesthetic to make him look dead to any witnesses, but took him out alive, and straight to one of those "black-=ops" depots for "extraordinary rendition."

That he's already a dead-man in the eyes of the world only serves to strengthen the position of his captors -- they can do anything they please to him in order to extract what he knows.

He knows that in the end he'll get a bullet and a shallow grave -- but he'd also believe that his 72 virgins await him on the other side as well!

I've no doubt that he's already wishing for the sweet release death will bring -- and when he passes the point of his endurance he'll tell them whatever they want to know just to make the pain stop.

It's actually a brilliant plan - which is how I know that the current Usurper-in-Chief didn't come up with it...

All the dithering and apparent incompetence is perfect cover -- and all just a little bit too pat for me to believe...
