The Exosuit

anexosuit.jpg

What Tony Stark Would Wear Underwater: Meet the Exosuit. It's a $600,000 atmospheric diving suit capable of taking a human 1,000 feet underwater at surface pressure, and it's the first of its kind. If you have dramatic music handy, you should go ahead and play it, because this thing is insane.

Can it be worn without underwear?

Not trying to be funny but is there a big need for humans to dive down to 1000'?

Misty, anyone who has the balls big enough to use that suit can't find underwear that would be roomy enough in the area required.

"is there a big need for humans to dive down to 1000'?"

Maintenance on deep water drilling rigs.

I've got several photos of the suit from testing in the summer in North Vancouver. Including ones showing how you actually get into the suit...my kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gym is next door to Newtco who were doing some really cool tests in a water tank outside.

Brian, good for you for letting your kids learn BJJ.

As to underwater distances, 1,000ft isn't even that far in the scheme of things, it's less than a quarter mile.

Goes to show the power of the ocean.

In my opinion there's a need for humans to go everywhere.

One of my classmates got a job with this company right out of BCIT, some years ago. Seems like it would be a pretty fascinating place to work.
