Those scales aren't even close. Check out the highways in the Pentagon shot and compare that to the little highway running diagonally in the Apple shot. Or the size of the buildings in the Apple shot to the size of those (appear to be apartment buildings) at the southeast of the Pentagon shot.

The Apple shot is probably 2 to 3 times more magnified than the Pentagon shot.

Most people don't know that the Pentagon was originally conceived of as a round building. That shape was abandoned for two reasons. One, they simply did not have the materials technology in 1940 to do it on large a scale. Two, the shape of the original plot of land the building was intended to occupy supported a pentagonal building very well and a pentagon gave most of the efficiencies of a round building.

That plot of land did not work out (too marshy, as I recall) so the building site was moved to where it stands now. Because it was a rush project, they opted against redesigning the building for the new plot and stuck with the now-famous pentagon shape.

There is a trick to zoom further in on Google maps. You need to get the link, and at the end of the link there is a "&z=(somenumber)" change the z to a higher number and it will zoom in further. Using the "+" on the map will switch to street view after 19 if street view is available.
This doesn't work for every area.
I don't believe it goes higher than 21 in any area.

Donald... a round pentagon you say?
