Um, nice everything except the lips. They look like those wax lips we'd get from the candy store.

Like you or I would even be a faint blip on her radar....

Should be called "Freckles", not "Red".

She's perfectly lovely.

Posted by: gypsy at June 28, 2014 8:18 PM

Incredible.

Blue eyes instead of the more common green....she's lovely

I agree with Chas. I have a red-headed daughter and I think she would look equally silly with those lips. But then, I always was one who liked the natural look over heavy makeup.

The whole mug looks fake.
The lower neck and shoulders look natural, soft, inviting.

I agree ghost. The lips and left nostril especially look like they've been shopped.

Yaaarrggghhh- you guys are awful!
She's perfect.

And NOT taken with a iPhone or it's ilk.

But it's the lighting that made that portrait, one or two lights and a reflector.

Since digital photography has driven all the Camera stores away where is there to go to "talk shop"? These days I'm afraid if I asked someone what camera they used I'd get handed a thin sliver of plastic. Rank with spittle and slimy from constant close contact with hair products. Kind of makes the question of "What lens do you have?" a joke.

When is the last time anyone carried a small notebook with them so that they could write down the speed and f-stop of your pictures so you could understand what worked and improve your images.
Will only the Pros be creating this kind of image in the future?

Go to her website. She's got a lot of pix there and many of them are good.
Why this one with the wax lips was chosen to represent her work is beyond me.
A lot of things are beyond me, shrug.

I agree North River, but digital has made the notebook superfluous. The digital metadata embeds shutter speed, fstop, focal length and dozens of other parameters.

Sad. What was so blemished that had to be so grossly embellished?

You picked a good one, Gerard (yea, I'm not dead, yet).

(one of the few) Archived.

Thanks.

Pretty, isn't she?

Yet every year, as a proportion of the total population of the world, there are fewer and fewer people that look like her.

And by that -- make no mistake -- I mean white people.

Now, I'm not talking about supremacy, or the Aryan Race, or any of that crazy stuff. I am merely reminding you of a simple biological fact: only a white man and a white woman can produce a white baby. And if white men and white women continue to have (on average) fewer than three white children together, the percentage of people in this world who look like her will continue to decrease.

(And of course if a white man or a white woman reproduces with a partner who is nonwhite, the downward trend in the number of people who look like this young woman increases still more.)

Some people don't believe this, of course. Others do not care. And still others positively cheer the decrease in the percentage of people in the world that look like this young woman.

Where do you stand?

I can only speak for myself: the fewer people there are that look like this young lady, the poorer this world will be.

There is nothing wrong with Eugenics if properly managed.
Winners write the history books. 'Nuff said.
