What a load of crap! Notice any words that said Plasma? Organization of matter by electrically ionized gases and magnetic forces? How about the fact that the sun is not powered by hydrogen fusion in its core but in a charged glow state at it's rim? That the temp of the surface of the sun is 6000 Kelvin while a hundred kilometers above the surface the temp is millions of degrees and ionized particles are accelerated which wouldn't be possible in fusion core model?

Physicists (most of them now) are so full of crap one hardly knows where to begin. Big Bang? Puh-leeze. What a hoary and completely inept old myth.

mark b, Interesting retort. Would you be able to recommend any references/resources (blogs/urls) to elaborate on your comment. Mr. Schulman's piece bears copyright of 1997, so, sure it might be dated. I would be curious to know what your alternative to the "hoary" Big Bang?

mark b:

Looks like they forgot "exasperation".

Let there be light.

Dr. Schulman, please. :) And if anything, the last ten years have brought increased confidence in the big bang model.

Cheers,
Eric
