But if that's you in there, you still look a mighty lot like a liberal, maybe even a radical liberal, to me.

If you should ever want to morph into a more conservative fashion demeanor, then find some old worn-out jeans and shoes, and an old plaid work shirt. And I'm sure Victor could find a few garden tools for you to wear around your belt and a copy of the latest Farmers Almanac.

I believe the person in this picture is Robert Fulghum, a resident of my wonderful hometown, Seattle. And he is not to be classified as liberal, conservative or whatnot, but is simply a marvelous human being, from all accounts. (Disclosure: I have not met Mr. Fulghum, but have trustworthy sources at second hand.)

In Seattle everyone dresses like this. Even the women, unfortunately. So while perhaps we fail at style, and the Manolo would despair of our shoes, the bright side is that we don't assume too much from appearances. We'll wait and let you tell us what your beliefs may be.

The figure depicted here doesn't convey the awful combination of b*lls and cowardice by which Hem shot his head off. Just a creeping, stodgy complacency.

It resembles my mind's-eye sense of Leftist writer Russell Banks (whom I've met in person and who, physically, is more robust than this image (even if his work is, IMHO, complacent).

He looks to me like he needs to start using bookmarks.

I'm afraid his unmarked image was a bit too esoteric for me. However, everything I really needed to know about identifying liberals, I learned in "kindergarten 2" in the 60s.
