The Obama Campaign keeps asking me for five bucks every day, but they can blow a million on TV. And even then, they got a discount. The Live Feed's Paul J. Gough tracked down the buy and gives the details:
Barack Obama will pay NBC and CBS almost $1 million each for the campaign's half-hour ad buy in primetime Wednesday, Oct. 29, less than a week before the election.Gotta love that cut in the rates. Wonder what sort of discount the McCain campaign would get. Posted by Vanderleun at October 10, 2008 1:41 PM | TrackBackAccording to papers available at CBS's headquarters in New York, the campaign agreed Monday to pay $961,000 for the entire 8-8:30 pm time period. It wasn't clear whether that was in pattern, meaning it would run across all time zones at that period.....
It would have been more costly, with CBS quoting the campaign a lowest unit cost of $1.5 million for 8-8:30 pm and $1.8 million for 8:30-9 pm. On Sept. 25, a CBS internal communication suggested that the campaign wasn't interested "as of now" in the Thursday spot. -- Obama paid nearly $1 million for each primetime ad--The Live Feed
You have to understand that now that Louis F. has declared him to be the Messiah, he is getting a Divine discount. McCain, who is obviously not a deity, will not qualify for the discount.

Posted by: Fat Man at October 10, 2008 6:54 PMDemocratic Representative Mike Kernell’s son, David Kernell, was caught by authorities. Apparently he had reset the password and gained access to the GOP VP candidate Palin's personal Email account, according to CNN. He had taken a screenshot of her entire email directory which includes E-mail addresses, pictures, birthdates and phone numbers of family members, and more. After turning himself in, he pleaded not guilty despite the fact that he took the information he hacked and posted it to a public Web site. To make matters worse, he also posted the new password he’d created, which allowed others to easily access Palin's E-mail themselves. David Kernell may be subject to the heat of a five-year prison term, $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release as a consequence. At the maximum of $1,500 per loan, that bail would require about 167 individual payday loans to free him from being condemned with other cellmates.
Who is going to watch a half hour political infomercial that doesn't already have an Obamaltar in their living room?
