Just mind-bendingly fast: Within an hour.
They had to have decided what to look for around the theme of "McCain is right," and then just dropped in the clips. I'm impressed. Who says this candidate doesn't know how to use the Internet?
Posted by Vanderleun at September 26, 2008 8:20 PM | TrackBackThe chattering class is already handing Barack a win on this debate, or grudgingly admitting it might have been a tie but "that's the same as a loss for McCain since he's behind."
We'll see how America reacts. I thought it looked like a promising but not-quite-ready-for-prime-timer going a few practice rounds with Dad. You know, on camera and in suits and everything, so they could go over the video later and work on Junior's weak points.
Case in point: on the Georgian crisis, Obama could say only that we should hold both sides accountable. McCain blew past this fluff with a solid refresher on the when, where, who, what and why, after a stark reminder that Russia had been the unquestioned bully and aggressor.
No doubt a few brie eaters and artisans of the ambiguous will swoon over Obama's performance. Middle Americans probably need something a bit less nuanced; right now things are looking a bit too wobbly for a training-wheel presidency.
I think McCain did better than he's going to get credit for, just as I believe Palin has captured more hearts - way more hearts - than she gets credit for. Given the propensity of the media to cheerlead for Obama, we may not know for sure until election day.
Posted by: askmom at September 26, 2008 8:53 PMObama was rude. He kept interrupting McCain or not letting him finish. He showed he has no class - to the nation.
His gaff on Kissinger is going to be replayed - a lot.

So at the beginning Obama spews his well practiced opening speech
with half a dozen questionable assertions per phrase and McCain does Debate 101 and
doesn't get caught up in refutations.
He argues his own point.
To the weak minded, Obama looked good since no one shot down his BS. Then, as the debate progressed,
McCain took his shots at Obama's biggest weakness, his anti-war anti-America basis of candidacy.
Obama lost his cool, interrupted constantly and stuttered wildly.
Half the time he wandered without making a rational point.
By the end, Obama was scrambling and getting caught up in lies and cliche "Took our eye off the real problem" BS
McCain closed well and confidently.
