Collective white guilt can properly be ended when all white people who possess collective guilt commit suicide, the sooner the better.

The Dean of the College of Liberal Arts was holding a "diversity meeting" urging graduate lecturers to confront students who uttered anything approaching intolerance, hate speech, or thought crime in class. During his talk, he intimated that this duty was especially incumbent on whites, because soon whites would not be a majority in the state (TX), and they would soon suffer discrimmination at the hands of the new black/brown majority if they did not placate "historical grievances/wrongs." His tone of voice sounded masochistic, like he wanted to be punished for the historical sins of the whites. His talk was the most disturbing thing I experienced in graduate school. He left the impression that he wanted a race war in which the whites would lose.
I would prefer to avoid a race war in America, though I doubt the whites in Texas would lose it.

Posted by: Jewel at June 12, 2011 5:55 PMAs a white kid growing up in The South shortly after the Civil Rights era, I've seen real and acceptable racism against blacks (Walter Williams gives me permission to use that term). And I've grown up and seen most of the older people that were unapologetic about their racism change. It rare and usually in a "safe environment" when some doofus is racist and most around him won't participate or change the subject.
Racism, of course is stupid, and the sign of poor upbringing and stubborn block-headedness.
The changes in The South are also one of the best examples of human improvement since writing. If you want to see vicious racism try and listen to many black people talk about white people and especially Hispanic people.
White people have learned to end their racism. When will commie-libs learn to stop hating whites? When will commie-libs learn to stop "accidentally" giving aid and comfort to any group seeking the destruction of Western Civ? If commie-libs really were trying to make things better would they have noticed that socialism hasn't worked for the last 100 years?
Groups are not equal any more than individuals are equal, but they are entitled to a fair chance. If they won't do their part, hate them for that. For that they deserve scorn and contempt, but only the ones that won't do their part.
Tom Sowell has an excellent book on this matter called "Black Rednecks and White Liberals." Failure is usually about personal self-destruction, even if it's impolite to say so.
