Obama: A Void Not an Echo

The head sodajerk at the Barry Cafe in DemoPleasantville has gone from offering little morsels of bullshit as "a gift from the chef" to the full-fledged bullshit milkshake slammed down at your place the minute you take a seat. Bottoms up!

Obama says he would meet with Cuba's leaders - Los Angeles Times

"Throughout my entire life, there has been injustice and repression in Cuba," Obama said. "Never, in my lifetime, have the people of Cuba known freedom. Never, in the lives of two generations of Cubans, have the people of Cuba known democracy. This is the terrible and tragic status quo that we have known for half a century."

After eight years of "disastrous" Bush administration policy, "It is time to pursue direct diplomacy, with friend and foe alike, without preconditions," he said, adding that the time and place would be of his choosing.

"I will never, ever, compromise the cause of liberty. And unlike John McCain, I would never, ever, rule out a course of action that could advance the cause of liberty," he said, promising to "turn the page."

This is transparent or stupid -- perhaps both. It also betrays a loose facility with math (decades and decades versus the always woeful 8 "disastrous" years of the dreaded Bush) as well as a deep misunderstanding and/or ignorance of the minds of dictators. As for Cuban Freedom, I think that would be much more readily advanced via the Marines than a quick little chat with Fidel or Raoul or whomever else wants to set in the fat seat in Cuba.

I'm sure the vast and influential Cuban community in Florida would agree with me. But perhaps in the Happy World of Obama he's already decided he doesn't need Florida. That worked well for Al Gore as I recall.

This appeasement crap makes me sick. What Cuba needs is campaign finance reform. It worked here, it'll work in Cuba.

I never thought I'd say this... but Mrs. Clinton is beginning to look like a viable alternative.

Denver. I'm going to miss that town.

I keep waiting for him to pull off his rubber mask and reveal he's Groucho, back from the dead.

Either the American people will see thru him or they shall not. If not, them we truly will get the government we deserve.

Thank God we finally have an adult running for President.

"Not talking to you" rarely works in the Third Grade much less in international relations.

If we can "talk " with the USSR when they were miuntes from obliterating us, we can "talk" to other dictators.

You people need to dump the Bush kool-aid and grow up and stop acting like the world is your little sewing bee. Where not talking to Mavis, will bring her around to your way of stitching.

Talking means talking. Not concessions or appeasment. Get an education.

Is TimPundit a moron? troll? or a brilliant satirist?
