Last Words of Hunter S. Thompson

IN A TAPE MADE SECRETLY YESTERDAY AFTERNOON BY DOUG WEED , ONE OF HUNTER THOMPSON'S "BEST FRIENDS," the tortured genius of American Journalism 1972-1973 can be heard saying quite distinctly, "What? What?! You're telling me that that chimp Bush smoked dope? That's it! I'm outta here!"

Good call. I'll steal it.

Might that be 'steel' it? I'm honored nonetheless. Stop by Gerard, I could use the input.

interesting you should say that ... bush was supposedly a member of HST's entourage during the 1972 conventions. During the run-up to the 2000 campaign reporters asked the doctor to drop a narcotic dime on GW - and Thompson wouldn't do it.

That's what I remember reading/hearing, anyway. Anyone else have any memories of this?

His last words seem fitting...they tend to tell us how Dr. T realized Bush's past behavior was similar to his own, leading down a path of self- denial. Lets face it, anyone who hasn't dabbled in forbidden substances would not be trusted by Hunter, and when he heard such news, his past writings became a painful lie. Living with that notion, would likely drive any genius mind into further madness, into a spiral of endless agony.

What a load of self-serving masturbatory horse-shit.

ooh censorship. I'll just change my name to brown buffalo chip so that my inner nature is revealed.

and I'll block names and ip adresses of those who disagree with me, so that my inner nature might forever remain hidden.

An excellent plan. Dilute! Dilute!

Huh. This guy can neither write, nor spell, nor form a coherent thought. "Let me dissuade you?" Another failed writer, slagging one of the few that made it big.

Hunter S. Thompson was a genius, with a mind as rare and brilliant as the Sloat Diamond. He was a champion, larger than life and funny to boot. He was a participant and chronicler of some of the greatest cultural upheaval in America. A self-proclaimed political junkie.

Selfish? Drug abuser? Sure. Inappopriate? OK. But to judge the man so harshly now is crass in the extreme. Have some tact for Chrissakes.
