File Under: "Hands on weather reporting." Some newspapers will do anything to get your attention back.

It's from the USA Today weather page, of course. It ran last Friday, July 1. Click for a larger look. If you need a larger look. -- From You need a dirty mind to be an editor in this business by Charles Apple @ copydesk.org

So, is it approaching anything near 130 degrees in the Pacified Northwest?

My wife and I had our wedding reception in Indio, CA, lo these many years ago. Sometime in June or July, it was 120 degrees Farenheit outdoors. But to tell the truth, once it gets above 115, it all feels the same.

(I'd rather be in 120 degree dry heat than 100 degrees with lots of humidity.)

once it gets above 115, it all feels the same.

That's not comforting.

Was the article entitled "Beating The Heat"...?

Never been anywhere it regularly hit 140°F, I take it? Once it goes above 130°F, it's even too hot for mad dogs and Englishmen...

Years agoe I was in Rhodesia. At 7 oclock in the morning it was already 110. By 2 in the afternoon it was around 140. You would sweat so much you could easily drink a gallon of water a day.

What's with all the extreme heat in everyone's distant past? Don't you know that skewes the narrative on Global Warming? It was not allowed to get that hot way back when!
