Amazing what the computer does for us. I dotake issue with the "desktop". Whenever I buy a new PC I remove anything on the "desktop" because it blocksmy awesome picture. I mean seriously do they think I don't know how to run a program and I need a link in my face all the time? So the concept of the "desktop" on the PC is a waste and a distraction. This is a big part of what made Windows 8 so irritating. Essentially we were stuck with a dumb iphone operating system where everything was placed on screen even if you didn't want that. I tried to make peace with Windows 8 and clicked on a few of those irritating "thingys" and discovered nothing is there! Essentially they are all advertisements to buy something. Everything took me to the App store. But worse once the app store was up I couldn't close it. I had to resort to using task manager to close apps that were running even though I didn't want them running. It was more like having a real desktop that people kept dumping trash on. Now if I could just figure out how to get rid of the last few thingys that microsoft puts on my desktop I would be a lot happier.

Yeah, right. How come my desk still looks like a hurricane hit a trash dump?

Though my phone can scan, a full-sized scanner, printer combo still comes in handy.

GTW - that desktop clutter is put on there by the PC vendor. In my experience, when you install Windows 7 from a MS disk, the default desktop is clean except for the trash bin. (I've built several Windows 7 PCs for friends and family.)

They forgot the part where the work area morphed into a nursery.

This is put out by Fischer-Price so all the wee ones can play work.
