The Death of a Dragonfly: Where does the light go when it goes out?

Last Moments Of Life from Paul Kroeker on Vimeo.
"The last moments of a Dragonfly's life captured on film. I did not hold this insect captive, it was just laying like this on my deck."

Heav'n from all creatures hides the book of Fate,
All but the page prescribed, their present state;....
O blindness to the future! kindly giv'n,
That each may fill the circle mark'd by Heav'n;
Who sees with equal eye, as God of all,
A hero perish or a sparrow fall,
Atoms or systems into ruin hurl'd,
And now a bubble burst, and now a world.

Magnificent. It never ceases to amaze me what can simple editing can do to give you the sense you know what someone is thinking or feeling. Even if that someone is a dragonfly.

I watched the video when it was posted a couple of days ago. I didn't leave a comment because I had nothing to say.

The Count's comment jogged something: The way the video was edited gave the impression that the dragonfly was seeing its life flash before its eyes as it was dying. Poor dragonfly. RIP.
