Synchronicity?

AFTER WORKING LAST NIGHT ON THE POEM BELOW, a project coming up on 30 years, and publishing it this morning, I found myself two clicks later reading Rev. Donald Sensing's SundaySermons: Wheat and Weeds , the whole of which I commend to your attention.

It may help to know that there is a kind of weed in the Middle East called darnel that looks just like wheat. So the growers could not tell at first that not everything was wheat. By the time they could, the weeds were so deeply rooted that to tear them up would tear up a lot of the wheat as well. So, says the landowner, let them both grow. When I close down the wheat field I'll sort the wheat from the weeds then.
And then, of course, while I read that sermon, my Itunes program, set on random shuffle, comes up with REM's:
That's me in the corner That's me in the spotlight, I'm Losing my religion Trying to keep up with you And I don't know if I can do it Oh no, I've said too much I haven't said enough
Like Yogi Berra once said, "It's too coincidental to be a coincidence." Posted by Vanderleun at July 17, 2004 10:00 AM

Do you hear the knock, Gerard? Soft but definite? Gentle yet insistent? Filled with promise?

I knew you would.

Heh. What was that old Denis Leary line - "I think you hear me knockin' and I think I'm comin' in!"
