Something Wonderful:Alison Krauss - Down To The River To Pray

"Everybody is wondering, what do we do now? Economy dumping, politicians creeping, social fabric unravelling, God being shoved out of the way, brother turning against brother, death wish just below the surface."

"Now is the time for better men to make a difference in this world. It is time for better men to speak up. It is time for better men to take a strong hand in the everyday affairs of the world. It is time for better men to show up in every aspect of daily life. It is time for better men to lead by example. It is time for better men to be the strong and positive influence in the daily outcomes of the people they meet. It is time for better men to live out "square dealing" in their affairs with all mankind."

4th sentence from the end should say: "....put great physical *distance* between yourselves and them."

"... wisdom is love and knowledge combined."

Nice.

ghost, not everybody is a lone wolf. Many see the advantages of groups like churches, fraternal organizations, social gatherings.

Not everyone else are jerks. Some folks are smarter than me, stronger, can bring to the group positive things not the least of which would be resources, skills, experience, so forth.
Of course I have much to offer as well; positive contributions are a good thing.
Alone or in a group, we're all in this together.

Hard to believe her hair was ever that short.

I learned this one from her recording and sang it in church.

Get in the river and then let the sun dry you.

Rare and well done, chas.
Let us all behave in ways we'd admire if we noticed it in others.

You should post more like this.

After a hard drive through late spring snows, I found myself with a few days to spend in Deadwood, SD. Not exactly tourist season, I had my run of the town. Got myself a good cigar, and wandered the boards where Holiday and Hikcock might have strode, and found a small, warm bar to pass the time. The bar TV had some country music video playing. Shook off the snow, and settled on a stool and ordered a drink. Then the voice of an Angel came from the speakers. Soothing. Loving. Made me feel less alone away from my family. Turned, and looked at the screen. Alison Krauss and Union Station signing "Now That I've Found You." Hooked since then.
