The melancholy tenor of this is perfect. It is almost a question: Land of the free? Home of the brave..?

Yes, I thought much the same, Leslie. It is beautiful, and ineffably sad. Almost a requiem.

Grace notes indeed. Like a prayer on Election Eve.

THAT'S the way you improvise, from within the tune.

Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Amen.

Beautiful version, simply beautiful. Thanks for posting it, otherwise I'd a missed it. I gave up MNF when they bounced Hank Jr. for speech violations.

The trumpet is indeed sad and may be hauntingly prophetic. Evil men who have sold their souls are stealing the American spirit and dream.

I've always liked Reggie Wayne as a receiver. Now I like him as a man.

...and.... it's gone. Glad I got to hear it just once.

And it's back.... for now.
