“Lord, if this is your will, please help to make me worthy. Please give me the strength Lord.”

Red%20Rock.jpg

Somebody yells out he' going to win Colorado and the governor laughs and says he thinks so too.

And then something very interesting happens. He moves away from the group of people just a bit. Maybe ten or fifteen feet or so. Just enough to have a little space to himself. And enough people notice that the area gets a lot more quiet, and they are trying to watch the governor without looking like they are watching the governor. They can all kind of tell something is happening right then. It was described as something very peaceful and powerful that came over that backstage area for a moment. And the governor, he lowers his head and his eyes shut tight and you could see him take a slow deep breath and then he lets it out and says quietly, but just loud enough for some to hear, "Lord, if this is your will, please help to make me worthy. Please give me the strength Lord." And then his eyes open up, and he's back to smiling and laughing and shaking hands and being the candidate once again. -- WHITE HOUSE INSIDER: Mitt Romney's Quiet Prayer Amidst The Sound Of Thunder - The Ulsterman Report

That was beautiful. We are praying for you, too, Guvnah!

I watched the video of this event at Right Speak and when Mitt first walked out and looked around, it was obvious that he was overcome for a moment and had to fight for control. The crowd was huge and very very vocal.

When I saw this story on FB, it brought me to tears.

Ken yehi ratson
May this be His will.

Can there be any doubt about who ought to be President of the United States. If this man is not elected, the message from Ha Shem will be that we are so far gone in our own corruption that we can not be saved.

From out History. The words of Benjamin Franklin offer us hope:

In the beginning of the Contest with G. Britain, when we were sensible of danger we had daily prayer in this room for the divine protection. — Our prayers, Sir, were heard, & they were graciously answered. All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a superintending providence in our favor. To that kind providence we owe this happy opportunity of consulting in peace on the means of establishing our future national felicity. And have we now forgotten that powerful friend? or do we imagine that we no longer need his assistance? I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth — that God Governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings, that "except the Lord build the House they labour in vain that build it." I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without his concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better, than the Builders of Babel: We shall be divided by our little partial local interests; our projects will be confounded, and we ourselves shall become a reproach and bye word down to future ages. And what is worse, mankind may hereafter from this unfortunate instance, despair of establishing Governments by Human wisdom and leave it to chance, war and conquest.

The Debates in the Federal Convention of 1787
by James Madison

THURSDAY. JUNE 28th. IN CONVENTION

And the words of our father Abraham at an hour even darker than this one, remind us of what is at stake:

Abraham Lincoln.
2nd Annual Message to Congress.
December 1, 1862.

Fellow-citizens, we can not escape history. We of this Congress and this Administration will be remembered in spite of ourselves. No personal significance or insignificance can spare one or another of us. The fiery trial through which we pass will light us down in honor or dishonor to the latest generation. We say we are for the Union. The world will not forget that we say this. We know how to save the Union. The world knows we do know how to save it. We, even we here, hold the power and bear the responsibility. In giving freedom to the slave we assure freedom to the free--honorable alike in what we give and what we preserve. We shall nobly save or meanly lose the last best hope of earth. Other means may succeed; this could not fail. The way is plain, peaceful, generous, just--a way which if followed the world will forever applaud and God must forever bless.

A far cry from, "Wow, folks are fainting left & right from how great I am! Somebody help that woman! Heh! Can't blame her! BRINGIN' THE LIGHT!"

I'll go with the Mormon but his prayers make me uncomfortable.

Posted by: I-RIGHT-I at October 26, 2012 12:30 PM

It is not a comfortable time.

I pray for us all.

Like him or not, agree with him or not, Romney is, to his very core, a good man, in a way we haven't seen on the national stage in a very long time. This makes his enemies uncomfortable. Very uncomfortable, for his incoruptable.

Posted by: Director at October 26, 2012 8:01 PM

"he is incorruptible" not "his incoruptable" -- been a long week. Sigh.

Posted by: Director at October 26, 2012 8:04 PM

...or his "incorruptability."

I hope to be delighted that you are right, Director.

Isn't that blasphemy? After all, he didn't ask if it was Obama's will.

Whatever disagreements I've had with Romney, I've always thought that he was a good man.
