This.... Is.... Just.... Wonderful!
That's it. I'm going out into Spring. You should too. After you watch this you'll go singing and dancing all the way.

Posted by Vanderleun at April 4, 2009 3:57 PMDang - I was going to start my Victory Garden this weekend, but Spring is all about snow squalls and 30 mile an hour gusts this weekend in the Rockies. You go enjoy it! I'll stay in and enjoy Julie Andrews with the kids. Thanks for the video!
Posted by: Western Chauvinist at April 4, 2009 5:15 PMSo wonderful! And I think at about 2:52 they are doing the Macarena. Yay for Julie Andrews!
Posted by: JD at April 4, 2009 7:27 PMI think this started with the January 15 flash mob in Liverpool station, that was arranged by T-Mobile: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQ3d3KigPQM
Worth also looking on YouTube for the "making of" videos, about how they set it up--
Dayamn, it's good to be an Infidel! Viva Rodgers and Hammerstein!
Posted by: Jewel at April 4, 2009 8:07 PMOh, thank you, Gerard! Just Thank You!
Posted by: Josie at April 4, 2009 9:15 PMGerard, in a week full of gloom, that's the nicest thing I've seen.
Thank you.
Posted by: nilk at April 5, 2009 3:40 AMprob'ly one of the best videos ever featured on the intertubes
Posted by: HL at April 5, 2009 9:38 AMJoin the herd and miss the train!
Makes a real nice target for evil dirtbag terrorists. Me and my kinfolk, why we'd check our weapons and politely stand over against the wall until the euphoria let up. Somebody's got keep watch over them ignert masses.
Never did trust drive by dancers, anyway.
Posted by: Eman at April 5, 2009 9:50 AMC. S. Lewis wrote in Mere Christianity that a good society (of the Christian sort) would feature a lot of spontaneous singing and rejoicing, and that no one would need to have the impulse explained to him. Shall we hope that that might have been a preview...perhaps even a "coming attraction?"
Delightful!!
That was perfect, Gerard. Just what I needed today.
Posted by: Daphne at April 6, 2009 12:23 PMBrought tears to my eyes. Thanks for sharing.
Posted by: Carol at April 6, 2009 6:50 PMLovely! Wouldn't it have been even better sung in Maria's native Austrian?
Posted by: class factotum at April 7, 2009 7:21 AMIt was difficult to see pass the tears of happiness in my eyes. The warmth in my heart. The chills running down my spine. You have done a wonderful, wonderful job. You've given a little sun light to many strangers, many friends, fathers, wives, brothers and sisters.
God bless,
.
Absolutely Delightful! Thank You
Posted by: Teresa at April 12, 2009 8:28 AMFabulous and I want it happen in New Orleans. Made me so happy I cried.
Posted by: Amy at April 12, 2009 11:47 AMsomeone sent this to me. First time I've ever seen anything on Utube if that's what it is. We just buried our daughter in law, 30 years old 3 weeks ago, left a husband and 5 children under 9! I yearn for the time as CS Lewis said that the day IS coming when spontaneous singing and praise will burst into being! Wow, what an awesome God we have even when we don't understand our pain. We need more like you just shared. May God bless you as you share!

Very uplifting! I'm not sure if it was anything to do with a god, though - more likely a product of hours of practice by a very talented dance troupe. Well done to those people!
Posted by: Gary at April 17, 2009 8:15 AMIt was so exciting that I wanted to jump in and dance with them. We need more of this instead of all the other balony that goes on. Keep it up Julie Andrews!
Posted by: Stuart Moyle at April 18, 2009 2:49 PMWhat a great way to spend my lunch...working at a Cancer Hospital is so down beat and you made my day!
Posted by: Lola at April 21, 2009 9:38 AMAfter watching this, visions of being on a mountaintop with Julie Andrews swirling around and singing all the great songs from "Sound of Music". A wonderful reminder of my childhood and a great way to continue with the day!
