If I were those Jib Jab creators, I'd be watching my back.

Whoa.
Just watched it again.
After those last sequences wherein he vanquishes enemies here and abroad, we see him as Ahab - harpoon raised decisively above the heart of the great white whale - the U.S. Capitol.

I don't have enough time to investigate the possibilities... but is the IG kerfluffle being engineered as an innoculation (via a managed impeachment)against future political restraint ?

I've tried to acquaint myself with the particulars of the case, but it is confusing, to say the least.

From the right and a cursory perusal of the media coverage, the episode appears to be a dead-bang transparent abuse of power.

But if you go and try to dig... there looks to be some grounds for a defense of the Americorps position, and that of the mayor in question. Not much, but enough to be politically useful in a political, not judicial, process. Also, the judicial findings/penalties already in effect between the mayor and the program are not as dire as have been intimated by the general news coverage.

There's a lot of heavy lifting left to be done by the Destroyer of Worlds, and I think that getting a bogus impeachment on the card would probably be a smart move for The Won.

Who wants to pay attention to the disassembly of free markets and individual liberties when the oxygen is sucked out of the room by a narrative - fulfilling impeachment fight pitting Those Evil Wingnuts v. The One (PBUH)?

There's only so much time in the political day, and even with the vast damage that Obama has already inflicted on the nation (mostly without even having to resort to that tiresome legislative routine) I'm thinking that the Democrat incumbent elite would love to have an easily packaged, media ready distraction on hand to keep people from noticing the twenty percent unemployment and the food, fuel, and inflation crises...

Just a thought. I'll shut up and get ready to go lay out more parking garage next week.

We've really fucked ourselves, haven't we?

His fans won't see the satire in this.......on the other hand maybe I'M seeing satire where none exists. Maybe this is another example of the slobbering love affair Bernie Goldberg described so accurately.

Pursuant to my previous -

There is so much blatant incompetency in this outfit it becomes a reach to look for grand schemes. I may be giving more credit toward any "plan" than is actually due. Objectives though... I think I recognize them clearly enough.

Voting "present" is no longer an option, Barry. Welcome to the bigs.

Boots -

Wrestle bears?
Punch a robot in the face?
Snap your fingers and fix the USA?

I think that sums it up pretty clear that it's a satire of overblown expectations. Anyone who honestly doesn't get that is so far down the rabbit hole they're never coming back up.

Colin,

I'm here in Sweet Home Chicago, and believe me when I tell you the satire in this piece will escape many of my fellow citizens. In the news last week was a story about a local elementary school, where 60% of the 8th graders flunked out and will not be going on to high school. The high school graduation rate citywide is 52%. We do not lead the country in smarts is all I'm saying.
