They say that if you want a friend in Washington get yourself a dog...

NOTICE: In keeping with my new "Nobama Diet" this post has about 24 hours to live.

Then I'll unpublish it. The original link will still work for incoming links, but like other items with the loathsome visage it will disappear from the page.

... and by golly that's just what he did!

Later it was time to give the presidency back to Bill Clinton for his third term:

"I've been keeping the Klingon the First Lady waiting for about half an hour so I'm going to take off ...."

Pawnage: Clintons 7,892 - Obamas Zippedeedoodah

Bizarre. Surreal.

From this side of the Pond it looked like an abdication. Or at least 'any port in a storm'.
Wonderful hubris.

And if you added up the total content of both their characters, you would still be dangerously close to zero. As mentioned somewhere, I wondeer, when the payment is due, just how high a price Obama paid for having Clinton as his political wing man. My guess is it ain't gonna be cheap.

Ive never been more embarrassed for my country.
No time to answer softball question about extending the existing tax rate or losing my base, I have to go to a party where everyone loves me or at least pretends to...WTF? As many of us suspected and voiced this dude is in way over his head.

Hey, I was no fan of Slick Willie, and Guy S. is spot-on about his lack of character, but Clinton was orders of magnitude better than 0. If Slickster could serve as caretaker president until the 2012 election, it might be the best we could "hope" for until we can "change" to a new president.

That "Please go" at the end.... Cold.

Posted by: ahem at December 11, 2010 8:45 AM

I am no fan of Bill Clinton.

I don't like his ethics or his politics.

That never stopped me from acknowledging his mastery of the game of electoral politics.

I know of him well enough - that is to say I watched pretty closely during the nineties and have read a couple three or four biographies - to know that he'll do the political fandango almost unconsciously but that if he thinks he's ever been personally slighted he'll find a way to slide the knife in.

Obama's caucus mau mauing of Mrs. Clinton probably offended Mr. Clinton. And when you stack up who was "more prepared" to be president, I think Mr. Clinton had an honest opinion that it wasn't The Won.

When the President called Bill for advice, Clinton probably went out of duty. When Obama asked him to share the presidential podium at a live presser, the Clinton political computer probably whirred for a split second and the original response of "Are you sure that's a good idea, pilgrim?" was processed into a respectful "Of course, Mr. President. Anything I can do to help".

Mr. Clinton's acting skills are masterful, still. I'd shell out a few bucks to get a still photo taken from the back of the room the second after Clinton dismissed him.

Because that's what he did.

And who knows how much thong slapping went on to get Clinton there.

Posted by: Bill Jones at December 11, 2010 4:23 PM

Tmj is right.

Clinton dismissed him. Un. F'n. Believable.

"Please go" = "Get lost, squirt".

Posted by: Mumblix Grumph at December 11, 2010 8:26 PM

The Obamic has hit the iceberg.

Posted by: Mikey NTH at December 12, 2010 8:57 AM

Or, perhaps: The sitting President gave up his duties in order to spend more time with his family.

Posted by: Mikey NTH at December 12, 2010 1:16 PM

I'm tired of seeing the failure in chief constantly splashed across your front page.

Seriously, why so much time spent linking to scatty bullshit on this incompetent, inconsequential asshole?

I'd much rather read your thoughts on almost any other topic than our current presidential travesty. I'm way overbaked on Obama.

Posted by: Daphne at December 12, 2010 3:47 PM

There are still a few kilotons of 'overbake' that could be delivered your way, Daphne. Hence, President Obama is still pertinent.

Posted by: Mikey NTH at December 12, 2010 4:40 PM

You know, Daphne, that was my thought exactly this afternoon. I'm sick of this schmuck too. I think I'll take a turn and turn away from these brimming bowls of steaming pundit kibble.

Posted by: vanderleun at December 12, 2010 4:42 PM

Good, I'm tired of my spending my read time on this lousy, limp dick.

Tell me what you think on everything else and I'll happily read every well written word.
