Something Wonderful: Hitler on Climate Change

The great military blogger Neptunus Lex says "It'€™s probably a sign that the whole "Hitler parody"€ thing has run its course when I jump in." But he's wrong, wrong, WRONG!

This one sums up the state of how the flaming wheels are flying off the AGW juggernaut with every passing day. It's got it all and is so densely packed with the lunacy of the scam that it's worth playing several times.

In short, "Dee-licious!" Such intense mockery couldn't happen to a more rotten group of people.

Check it out. Pass it on.

Which part of the core science has been refuted?

Answer: none.

Global warming is fact - no matter how many times you wingnuts declare otherwise.

"Which part of the core science has been refuted?

Answer: none. "

That's actually true. There is no core *science* about GW to be refuted, because there never was any science behind it to begin with. It's all smoke and mirrors dreamed up in a whiskey bottle, and typed up to get more and more grant money. They had a bridge to sell, and they sold it over and over to people that used other peoples money to buy it.

The so called "core science" they claimed to have has conveniently been "lost", and cant be replicated. The IPCC wont even acknowledge the so called hockey curve, and Phil Jones claims he "lost" all the data used to create it. Except of course for all the programming tricks used to get it to look good.

Posted by: Erik at February 15, 2010 5:32 AM

This is what's so fun about global warming. It's not some pie-in-the-sky argument like the "transubstantiation of the Eucharist", or "is a fetus a living soul", or even "are the benefits of capitalism worth its anti-egalitarian effects on society", where reasonable minds (with innately unreasonable biases) can argue pro vs. con for generations with no clear resolution. With global warming, all you have to do is wait. If a group of people have been claiming for 30 years that the earth will be some hellish fireball of doom in 15-20 years (unless we all act RIGHT NOW!!) the evidence mounts each year, with each season and each daily temperature datum, that they were full of malarkey. The consequence: the social equivalent of all-day bill collector calls from the public to the scientific community, and the scholarly equivalent from AGW advocates of cult ritual suicide.

Posted by: TheAbstractor at February 15, 2010 5:32 AM

From the BBC via Instapundit:

"Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.

And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming."

Posted by: Tournefort at February 15, 2010 5:41 AM

Global warming is fact

You keep using those words. I do not think they mean what you think they mean.

Posted by: physics geek at February 15, 2010 5:47 AM

The historical flat earthers believed the earth was flat because so many credentialed and connected people said it was so. It was the critics who proved that conclusion to be wrong, much like the GW-deniers are doing today against those like Jack above who still push the AGW party line despite the evidence on which it was based having been shown to be faked (or 'lost').

Posted by: Duke at February 15, 2010 5:54 AM

"Global warming is fact"

So is global cooling. The FACTS are the earth's climate has never been in stasis, it is not now and will not be in the future.

The AGW crowd wanted to make climate change as something new and different. It isn't. This is not the warmest period in our planets average temperature and it is not the coolest.

Posted by: EconRob at February 15, 2010 6:11 AM

The earth's climate is always changing and will be warmer and cooler in the future. The "core science" that Jack refers to is a fraud attempting to tie climate change to human activity. Certainly, as thinking beings, we should study climate change, its causation, and its potential effects. The primary climate researchers, however, have been totally dishonest. They "tricked" a correlation between warming and human industrial activity so that they could claim a causal relationship.

Posted by: billw at February 15, 2010 6:26 AM

"The historical flat earthers believed the earth was flat because so many credentialed and connected people said it was so."

This a poor analogy. Educated and credentialed people knew that the world was round from before the time of Eratosthenes (died about 195 BC). He calculated the circumference of a round earth and calculated the tilt of that round earth on its axis.

Columbus was not trying to prove the earth was round, but rather that it was smaller than existing calculations said it was (he was wrong).

A better analogy would be with Galileo who was persecuted (mostly) by his fellow astronomers for having different (but correct) ideas about the nature of the solar system. Most people like to focus on the Church's role in his troubles because they like to point fingers at an "ignorant and backward" church, and ignore the large role of the scientists of the time, who had "established science" and the "consensus" on their side.

Posted by: Room 207 at February 15, 2010 6:42 AM

Maybe next we'll get...Global Stagnation. This would be caused when the cold temperatures in one hemisphere are exactly balanced out by hot ones in the other hemisphere. If Summers got 50 degrees hotter than normal in some places at the same time that Winters got 50 degrees colder in others, the average would be unchanged. The same would be true for +/-1, +/-10, etc. degrees.

There has to be some great significance to this.

Jack -
It is possible that that huge orange thing in the sky I keep seeing on my way to work has something to do with it, right?

Maybe it's relation to our declination?

Just trying to be helpful.

On another point, about the "core science" being settled.

The problem that "climategate" is exposing is that we cannot be certain, any longer, about the temperature trends. It is obvious that a lot of "fudging" of the data has taken place, and the the quality of the existing data is also questionable. The latter is due to siting issues with weather stations and the shutting down of rural stations while maintaining stations in urbanized and urbanizing settings. So now we have a whole new question: Has there actually been a world-wide, verifiable, warming trend over the last 150 (or so) years?

If there is a warming trend running, with ups and downs, through the 20th century, the questions the scientist here should be trying to answer are:

1) How much of the current trend is caused by human activity? This is "anthropogenic global warming" or AGW.
2) Once we know this (or have a good approximation), can we extrapolate this into the future? This is the global warming modeling that is going on. Current models are a mess. They cannot accurately model the climate shifts over the recent past without their own set of "fudge factors" to make them work. Until they can do that, they are worthless.

The political questions should be:
1) How do we respond to global warming (man-made or not)?
2) Is the cost of limiting carbon production worth it? That is, is the cost of limiting carbon production more than or less than the cost of compensating for the effects of global warming? Wealthy countries can more easily compensate for the effects, just as they can more easily switch to nuclear power (the most reasonable substitute for some fossil fuel usage).

The political agenda must be separated from the scientific research. Although how that is going to be accomplished I don't know.

It is fun to see Jack Mildam tell us the core science has not been refuted and then refuse to give us any int as to what the core science says and what part has not been refuted. This it the classic "big lie" technique.

I'm beginning to suspect some connection between the "Hitler Discovers ... X " creators and IowaHawk.

Such satire cannot be tolerated by the Libocracy. Doubleplusungood.

Yo, Jack !... clue up man. Seriously. You embarrass yourself. I catch a whiff of soy-extract metropoisoning.

Posted by: OhioDude at February 15, 2010 8:08 AM

@James:

It is true that the data are very messy and that in itself makes it unwise to spend trillions and give governments more power for this cause.

However, even if all the data were perfect, it would still be too little. Showing a trend with a nonlinear system is not sufficient. You must find transition points and define feedback mechanisms too. Which means: better get back to taking data for another century or two before you try to pass this off as settled science. I don't think most lay people understand just how difficult a case AGW will be to make in a statistically significant way. In fact, I don't think most scientists do either.

FROM THE NY POST:

"Trump cool to global warning
February 14, 2010

Donald Trump is not a big believer in global warming. "With the coldest winter ever recorded, with snow setting record levels up and down the coast, the Nobel committee should take the Nobel Prize back from Al Gore," the tycoon told members of his Trump National Golf Club in Westchester in a recent speech. "Gore wants us to clean up our factories and plants in order to protect us from global warming, when China and other countries couldn't care less. It would make us totally noncompetitive in the manufacturing world, and China, Japan and India are laughing at America's stupidity." The crowd of 500 stood up and cheered."

My point is what if this was always an effort to destroy the West's economy's? Also, I'd like to see these frauds put on trial. Not by the "World Court", either.

Posted by: JD at February 15, 2010 8:41 AM

Poor Al Gore, what will his futures in carbon credits sell for now?

Every politician that sided with this group of frauds is going to be tarred with the same brush.

One more thing and then I'll stop:

I'd like to participate in the class action lawsuit.

Posted by: JD at February 15, 2010 9:11 AM

It's pretty sad to see people like Jack behave in much the way the Church did when they realized the Bible was wrong about where the Earth stood in relation to the universe 500 years ago. It also makes the South Park episode "Go God, Go" so prophetic. Your science is flawed, tummy eaters!

Posted by: TheLastBrainLeft at February 15, 2010 9:13 AM

Just this morning, I awoke to the soothing sounds of Christopher Joyce narrating his story: Get this: Warming Planet Can Mean More Snow.

The point of Mr. Joyce's piece seemed to be that weather and climate change are two different things.

Given that Hitler in "Hitler on Climate Change" made the same point, albeit to a different purpose, I just had to send this URL to Morning Edition.

"A cold winter in north China has caused the worst outbreak of sea ice in decades.

For many years, those of us who've been sceptical have been accused of mental instability or other unsavory forms of retardation. Now we can be sure that it's not us, but THEM. And the words are "cognitive dissonance".

Nor do I see any reason to be nice about it.

Posted by: oso loco at February 15, 2010 6:46 PM

You've got to admit, oso loco, comparing AGW enthusiasts to Nazis isn't exactly going easy on them. And it isn't entirely fair either. AGW propagandists are International Socialists - not National Socialists. Thus the well-earned "watermelon" label. Green on the outside, red on the inside.

And as an engineer married to an experimentalist (scientist) and a nephew who is an astrophysicist studying atmospheric events on Jupiter, Io, and other things closer to home, there's not much been done by the AGW consensus scientists that merits admiring. My family says it's a bunch of hooey. Bad measurements, bad practices, bad proxies, poor data management (not to mention manipulation), really really bad computer modeling (hide the decline) which can't possibly explain why the globe hasn't warmed in the past 15 years despite the ever increasing amount of CO2 in the atmosphere - if CO2 is the driving factor. I knew it was a lie when Hansen reported to Congress that he was 99% certain about something which was clearly not certain at all. He was mythmaking. And it worked for a while, but Nemesis comes calling...

Sorry for the run-on. I shouldn't comment after the Lunesta is on board. TUI: Typing under the influekdn,c...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The "core science" of this video is the loss of scam funding.

Follow the money. "I even got that washed-up lardass the Nobel Prize...for Peace! He's up to half a billion!" Brilliant. Al Gore should be sharing a cell and a life sentence with Bernie Madoff.

Quit arguing about the science. It's about the scam. For decades, hundreds of billions of dollars across many, many nations have been siphoned off from true productivity.

AGW and its carbon offset/cap'n'tax guilt-trip indulgences amount to a monumental con job. Bigger and richer and longer-running than any sting ever conceived, except perhaps Marxism.

"One more 5-Year Plan, comrade, and I promise you, you'll have something to eat."

"Just keep paying me so I can fly all over the world and collect accolades from fellow charlatans and consume 221,000 KWH per year on my mansion's electric bill... or in ten years you'll be under water. Oh, and don't forget to use those overpriced, underperforming Chinese-manufactured curly-cue fluorescent light bulbs, too."

Posted by: Koblog at February 16, 2010 6:00 AM

Great comment, Koblog.

As a side show it's also about the loss of an easy narrative for the legacy media, one that lots of "reporters" and "editors" and "producers" have learned by rote for decades. Back to school for all of them but they don't have the tools and the background to really dismantle it.

Posted by: vanderleun at February 16, 2010 9:45 AM

Mr. Vanderleun; Unfortunately the Warmist priests and kings still direct the tools of lame-stream mass propaganda which continue to shackle the hearts and minds of the UNthinkers who swing the cudgels of their collective [manufactured] static earth "consensus" in an attempt to beat back marauding "skeptics" and evil "deniers".

Although the tide may well have been turned, they still command a considerable choir of looters tools who's very concept of moral self has been made dependent upon defending the fortress of lies they have constructed, and in which they hide themselves...Defending it at any and all costs -be it economic or social- until they realize that they are now paying said costs themselves as they have run out of other people's filthy capitalist lucre.

On the bright side, thanks to a growing legion of people like yourself -who've grown into their strength through the emergence of this alternate medium of communication (ironically 'invented' in the fever-dreams of Friar Al Gore himself)- said tools are considerably duller than they once were. Consequently, the Warmist raids on common sense -not to mention the scientific method- outside the obfuscating fog of fortress bullshit are less effective, less frequent, and far more effortlessly beaten back in the rising light of the East Anglian morning.

Howz that ass taste hippies?
