Yes, Islam does suck. Some branches of it, like Wahhabism/Salafism and its Pakistani cousin Deobandism, worse than others, like Sufism, but at its base, Islam seeks to convert, subjugate, or kill those who don't follow its tenets. There are some, many even, individual Muslims who don't suck; the law of averages says that a group that has over a billion people is going to have at least a sprinkling of reasonable folks in it. But many others are not reasonable, and as a society writ large, Dar al-Islam sucks. And no mosque or cultural center or whatever should be anywhere near Ground Zero.
