What better time for an enemy to strike, and strike hard, than when the country is in the hands of a vain, feckless, ideologue- a weak, and brittle man, out of touch with the values of the people, a man in whom the nation has no confidence. This is getting more than a little scary.

Shit. It happened to FDR. Sumbeyotch made the Depression worse with his policies including increased taxes on labor (aka social security). Talked neutrality and made deals with the British Emprie - think the Japs and the Huns didn't pick up on that (aka lend-lease). Not saying the fascists didn't deserve a kick in the ass. I am asserting that we shouldn't have adopted fascist policies - which we have done by socializing medicine (aka medicare), schools (loans, etc.) and now the gov eats up 40% of the economy. Mussolini couldn't have asked for more.
