Coming Up Tonight: "I'm like a Roosevelt" and "We are a collective failure"

... and tonight's most memorable on-mike moment:

Wise men and women will mix the martinis and pack the bong full. Here we go again....

The White House - Press Office - Excerpts of the President's address to a joint session of Congress tonight

[Emphasis added] I am not the first President to take up this cause, but I am determined to be the last. It has now been nearly a century since Theodore Roosevelt first called for health care reform. And ever since, nearly every President and Congress, whether Democrat or Republican, has attempted to meet this challenge in some way. A bill for comprehensive health reform was first introduced by John Dingell Sr. in 1943. Sixty-five years later, his son continues to introduce that same bill at the beginning of each session. [Yo! Dingell of the Dingell Dynasty, stop introducing it then!]

Our collective failure to meet this challenge – year after year, decade after decade – has led us to a breaking point.

Oh, snap!

And towards the end of the excerpts we read this perfect summing up:

Everyone in this room knows what will happen if we do nothing. Our deficit will grow. More families will go bankrupt. More businesses will close. More Americans will lose their coverage when they are sick and need it most. And more will die as a result. We know these things to be true.
And therein lies the nub of the disagreement. May I suggest that what everyone in and out of that room knows will happen for sure "if" this bill is passed is... "Our deficit will grow. More families will go bankrupt. More businesses will close. More Americans will lose their coverage when they are sick and need it most. And more will die as a result. We know these things to be true."

If I was an Obama speech writer, I'd close that last hole up pronto. We'll see.

UPDATE: Alas, the White House failed to take my advice. They are DOOMED!

'Collective' indeed...can't seem to stay away from his marxist roots...

This SC Rep was going to be my new hero until I learned he had already apologized for telling the truth mere moments after saying the truth. In fact, before I finished reading the first paragraph describing this crime againt humanity of speaking truth to Leftist power, I was asking myself how many days will it be before he presents his apology.

We need leaders that will spit in this Obama man's face for what he is doing to this country and instead we get men that race each other to show how timid they are. It's clear we need a strong man in our party, and Sarah Palin will do a better job than all the other Republicans combined. Maybe their fragile male ego will cause them to act more manly once they see a woman, a hot woman, being more manly than they.
