Hmm. Free advice, and worth every penny.
That is a clever video and the humor is not too subtle for the learned crew that reads here.

I like the one in the magazines where a world-famous expert is willing to send me a guaranteed way to make "thousands of dollars working from my home" if I just send him ten bucks.
When I send the money and receive the plan outline it says "Take out an advert in magazines and use the same copy I used to get your ten bucks". Oh, and get a P.O. box.

That's a bit harsh.

Kickstarter can be a useful platform to help artists get financial backing for their projects. I've backed an artist on a couple projects because I wanted to receive the results of his work. He found Kickstarter helpful because it already had the infrastructure set up to line up backers and pay them with his products.

Crowdfunding can be "Give me money because I want it," but it can also be "Give me money in exchange for this completed product."
