Tree Hugging In Our Time: "O for a chainsaw of fire!"

640aatreehuggers.jpg
Hannah Brown and fellow activists demonstrate against the planned clear cutting of trees outlined in the East Bay Deforestation Plan on the University of California, Berkeley campus.

Bring me my Bow of burning gold:
Bring me my arrows of desire:
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my Chainsaw of fire!

The two places that currently practice this.
liberal Colleges and the White House

Penis envy
"Penis envy is a stage theorized by Sigmund Freud regarding female psychosexual development, in which female adolescents experience anxiety upon realization that they do not have a penis. Freud considered this realization a defining moment in a series of transitions toward a mature female sexuality and gender identity."

This is nothing which a Muslim horde can't cure. Or even a Mexican horde.

No, no, I'm listening. It just takes me a minute to process so much stupid all at once....

Get yer kids out. NO government school. Not if you love them.

I don't see any of my Bay Area friends in this pic. I would know them by their excellent, lithe bodies. Oh well, maybe I should urge them to participate in any future demonstrations, and then share the pics with Gerard.

"I would know them by their excellent, lithe bodies. "

Heh.

Doesn't exactly hit the hard-wired erogenous male 'button', do they?

The whole 'naked protest' thing may have worked with previous generations, but cheap exhibitionism loses potency each time it is used. Now that its 2015 and the whole naked 'thing' has been covered ad-nauseum, they're gonna have to a quite a bit more ...gritty ... to show they mean business as this form of protest is rather 'ho-hum', now.

That would have to be very uncomfortable. And that's not even considering the tiny critters that travel up and down the bark on their daily rounds.

Albert King – Crosscut Saw Lyrics

I'm a cross cut saw, just drag me 'cross your log
I'm a cross cut saw, just drag me across your log
I cut your wood so easy for you, you can't help but say 'Hot dog!'

I've got a double-bladed axe, that really cuts good
I'm a cross cut saw, just bury me in the wood

Some call me wood-choppin' Sam
Some call me wood-cuttin' Ben
Last girl I cut the wood for, want me back again

I will not cease from Mental Fight,
Nor shall my Saw sleep in my hand:
Till we have built Jerusalem,
In Berkeley's green & pleasant Land

Idiot wind
Blowing like a circle around my skull,
From the Grand Coulee Dam to the Capitol
Idiot wind
Blowing every time you move your teeth
You're an idiot, babe.
It's a wonder that you still know how to breathe

"My Eyes!"

Leslie is right.

@James Wilson: or a colored horde

Posted by: ghostsniper at July 24, 2015 2:33 PM

They're idiots. The clear-cutting is being done because these are eucalyptus trees -- invasive, non-native flora that are terrible fire-dangers (their leaves are loaded with flammable oils), and whose fallen, decaying leaves and bark make a mess, rather than a layer of fertile loam.
The whole thing was an just excuse for the local exhibitionists of all sexes to once again parade their meager wares in front of cameras.

There did not appear in that picture anything I wanted to see. Please nudies, do not turn around. Stay static with that poor tree. I do not want to see the clam's beard and/or FFN. I would only throw up my chicken fried rice on my keyboard.

One more example of the cannibalization of the lunatic left.

Thinking of the poor E. calipudis trees to be sacrificed. Tears of Gaia wetting the fertile loam of the Berkeley hills. Tremors will surely follow.

Not to mention, eucalyptus trees are host to a tropical fungus that will kill you, if you happen to inhale the spores.

They're insane and I'm sad. I'm sad that I'm living in a world that seems to be unravelling like a cheap sweater.

Certain trees may suffer attacks by specific types of adult parasitic insects. Small-brained redwood borers only infest redwood trees, while eucalyptus puerile borers target eucalyptus species. In some cases, the larvae feed exclusively on the bark of a tree's lower trunk. Larvae that attach to the bark can sometimes tunnel into the soft, inner layers of the tree and weaken the wood. Extensive larvae infestations are not only unsightly, but can kill the tree eventually. The application of copious amounts of cold water, usually sprayed from a high pressure apparatus, may help loosen the larvae from the bark and control their advance to other areas. Landscapers should avoid planting susceptible trees near college campuses. Keeping trees healthy, especially in redwood trees, can make the tree less appealing to these boring creatures.

You see this story, and you think "ooh, Berkley coeds!" Then you see the picture and think "oh, random middle aged people from the city"

Terms such as "rode hard and put away wet" come to mind.

Looks like a dude all the way in the back. He better hope he doesn't get any bark in his mangina.

Skorpion is right about the eucalyptus trees. You don't want them around. When I lived in Australia, I learned the eucalyptus trees, called gum trees Down Under, also had a nickname: "widow-makers". In times of drought, they cut off the flow of water and nutrients to their limbs. This can leave seemingly sturdy-looking limbs that have in fact dry-rotted to the point that they can't support their own (considerable) weight. I heard one snap one night. It landed on a neighbor's car and crushed the roof. I also saw the aftermath of a couple of other car-crushings and several near-misses. Not something I want in my neighborhood.

I think Bill got the jist of what I was driving at. Specifically, I'm looking at the huggie with the light brown hair on the extreme left. If I were her age, I would definitely have some issues relating to her protest that I would want to work out with her

I'd just go up to her and whisper in her ear, "I truly admire the position you're taking here. Indeed I stand behind you all the way on this issue. So should we do it on the flora; or if yuwanna, we could do it on the fauna."
