Upon receiving this, my correspondent replied: "Unbelievable. Well, at least something is finally uniting the country."

I am taking perverse pleasure in this cold snap, because it makes Global WarMongers look bad.

Correction: it makes them look even worse than usual.

Well I live in Michigan and work on a farm with livestock. So I have the pleasure of being outside most of the day with chores and cleanup on drifting snow and keeping the water tanks from freezing and the fences clear of drifts so the animals don't just walk on out over the fencing.

If some idiot tries to tell me that there is global warming and that I must have my livestock taxed because they pass too much "gas" and therefore are causing the earth to be too warm, I will cheerfully toss them into the nearest 10 foot snow drift and hope that helps them "see the light of their foolishness".

It got to a high of ten degrees today with wind chills 17 to 20 below zero - global warming - BRING IT ON PLEASE !

Global warming? That's so yesterday! Ain'tcha heard? The newest and correctest term is the nebulous "climate change." Because until the Industrial Age, climate was static. Right?

That supposed 53ยบ down here is misleading. A few days ago it snowed in Malibu for the second straight year.

It was 5 degrees outside when I got up this morning, and now in the evening it is 13.

I want my global warming.

And, I want it NOW.

WHAT?? No global warming? Boy, that really reduces the number of topics I can choose from to chat with my liberal buddies. Topics where we can remain civilized, anyway.

And speaking of Malibu: I think it was 1949 when So Cal got really hammered and there was a *blanket of snow* in low-lying coastal (and metro) areas. The Channel Is. were bright white.

It's been around the Net for awhile, but for those who haven't heard it, the Minnesotans for Global Warming Song is worth a listen:

It's 19F (11F with wind chill) here in southern New England-- probably a heat wave by Michigan standards.

Ten inches of snow in Utah County.

Just a skiff on my project in Salt Lake.

And my daughters (and a platoon of Nice Young Men) had the drive shoveled when I got home at eight p.m..

I wonder if algore implodes before or after the inauguration? Because if the One's picks on the adult agencies are any indication, he's not nearly ready to sign over America to the Warmers, any more than he's going to satisfy the Troofers, Surrenderers, or War Crimes morons.

I expect to see another Global Cooling scare in my lifetime. I'm only pushing fifty.

Posted by: TmjUtah at December 22, 2008 7:54 PM

It's not the cold, it's the humidity.

Posted by: Deborah at December 22, 2008 9:35 PM

Just so it is on record on a site that I can use later to spiff up my CV, I predict something along the lines of what TmjUtah said re: cooling ahead. As soon as the warmers started going off because of admittedly (and ongoing) "odd" weather, I figured we were in for a few decades of climate craziness before the next long cold period. Similar to the magnetic pole shift-- it's not a 'flip' but a patchy, messy mixing of polarities until it settles out.

Strange how so many are duped into freaking out about this phenomenon that probably has zero to do with man's activities, yet our *actual environment*, especially forests, is being destroyed with indisputably negative results, and many of the same folks just shrug. I guess it's too difficult to try stopping illegal and corrupt timber harvesting in Indonesia, Brazil, etc., but of course we can stop global warming! This proves the political inanity and emptiness of the Left, as if we needed proof.
