Something Wonderful: Maria and Derek Take a Bite Out of Prokofiev

I don't usually pay any attention to "Dancing with the Stars." Last night, a close friend directed my attention to this and I had to change my mind. (For this one, at least.) I'm not sure but I think the face plant move at 3:33, the slinging around in circles, and the hauling of the lifeless form off the stage at the end had something to do with the compelling nature of this paso.

I don't enjoy dance.

I enjoyed that one.

Thanks.

Self-aware, or emergent from the zeitgeist? She shows him up-front what she's about. He doesn't care, he's a moth and can't help himself. Once she's had enough of the good times he's giving her, she sucks him dry and disposes of the trash.

It's also the skilled, competent person, voluntarily in thrall to and sacrified for the benefit of the mediocre.

Are they sure they want to be that explicit?

It is not virtue, but ineptitude, which keeps most fellows out of the clutches of sin.

Wilson, you wag.

I found the beat off-putting, and the melody hard to hum along.

Derek is a brilliant choreographer and the best of all the male dancers (3 time DWTS champion). His sister was too before she left the show. (She is now the Ryan Seacrest main squeeze and working on her recording career. When Derek and Julianne dance together, it is poetry.)

This particular dance was one of the best I've seen and I have watched the show from the beginning. I'm glad to see that it appeals to a larger audience. I watch because I love the dance and the incredible timing necessary for great choreography.

DWTS is one of the best shows out there. In truth, it's not about dance; it's really about character. Apparently Menounos has been dancing with two broken ribs and other physical ailments, and it hasn't stopped her. It was a great dance.
