"Then put your little hand in mine....." Good Morning. It's Groundhog Day!

"Don't drive angry. Don't drive angry."

"He was a really great guy. I liked him. A lot."

So...How Many Days Does Bill Murray Spend Stuck In Groundhog Day?

"How many days...?"

One. That's the whole point of the movie.

A better question would be: How many times have you started to watch that movie, but couldn't get through more than two scenes? I'll start: at least five.

We have an elderly friend, who is like a grandmother to my children. She has no children of her own, and, moved into our hearts. She grew up in Punxsutawney. Her father was the editor of the Punxsutawney Spirit, as was his father before him. Her grandfather made up the story of Punxsutawney Phil based on German old wives tales. He printed it in the paper, and it was linked to a Pittsburg paper, where it took off from there. Even though I live in Arizona, where winter is about 3 weeks long, we make a big deal out of Groundhog Day. Every years she brings us Groundhog cookies (gingerbread) and the kids make her cards.

We never receive the press coverage equal to that of this oversized rodent but down here in the Deep South we roll chicken bones to forecast our Seasons. Accordingly it isn't reported but we know that repetition has proved that our method is much more accurate.

When I first moved from Sodom on Hudson to PA I shot 15 groundhogs during the first year. The first two months, I thought they were cute then I realized that the bastards do a lot of damage to drystone walls and fences and the holes are a real threat to kids and animals.
There's one last big one living under the barn- he's about my size, that I'm cuing my boy up to shoot this summer.

Someone on Reddit said they should announce a sequel and release the same movie.

So, 33 years. Long time to get it correct. Then even then people still don't get it correct.
What about all the people around phil did they go into groundhog mode also waiting for phil to get it correct?

Read someplace that it was 1,100 years. Can't remember where...

My question is: After the happy ending when he wakes up with Rita on February 3rd -- did he EVER go back to Punxsutawney? I can see whispers around the teevee station on the eve before his retirement, "Yeah, he doesn't go there, nobody knows why."
