Preach it, Pat!

Pat's really spot on about Islam: all the facts are in and he is spot on.

But I do sense an edge of vitriol with broad generalizations about Christianity. Not much data day to day aside from the usual rants about Tevangelicalist huckster types making a killing off the backs of ordinary folk and the impenetrable contradictions in the Old/New Testament. Ho hum.

That's okay: "I used to be outraged, but now I'm just amused."

I like what Pat has to say - even if I disagree about his views on Christianity. Keep up the good work Pat!

I suspect the Melbourne (Australia) atheist society takes its inspiration from Pat. Whenever Muslims poke their heads up they are there to mock them. Makes for some good video.

It's good that Pat is going to draw the line and bar the door to Muslims intimidation, but he might want to look back to see who he's really up against. The Eurocrats just fined a man with a better rant, Neil Farage, 4 grand for making jokes about one of their own.

Pat's got it. About Islam, at least. Because "innovation" in religion is banned in Islam, and because religion to them is all-encompassing, Muslims look longingly at early 7th-Century Arabia as the most ideal period in history. Think about that for a second. Does any Christian really want to live in 1st Century Galilee? Not this one, nor any other I know. Do Jews want to recreate the time ca. 2000 BCE, when Moses descended from the mountain bearing the Law? None of my Jewish acquaintances do. Yet for Muslims, the constant wars, brigandage, slavery, and ignorance of Mecca in AD 600 is their yearned-for golden age. Golden showers, if you ask me.

There's a reason why Jews are so prosperous, because they are the best at insulting Jews. When you're the best at putting your own people down other people tend to lose all incentive to.
