Nagging Question at the Ready

readytolead.jpg
"The voters in Iowa said they wanted change. And like my friend Rashid over there at the cash register, I'm saying 'America, here's your change'." -- Clinton Touts New Slogan

IS IT JUST ME, or is this whole campaign, this whole concept, and this whole family starting to look simply absurd?

UPDATED MONDAY: "Are you crying? Are you crying? ARE YOU CRYING? There's no crying! THERE'S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL! "

The Anchoress predicted them and now HERE THEY ARE.

You don't remember me,
but I remember you
T'was not so long ago,
you broke my heart in two
Tears on my pillow, pain in my heart
Caused by you

If we could start anew,
I wouldn't hesitate
I'd gladly take you back,
and tempt the hand of fate
Tears on my pillow, pain in my heart
Caused by you

The clip referenced above shows, however, a clever variant on the trademarked Bill Clinton "I feel your pain" tears. These are the "You feel my pain" tears.

Why? Why now? Because in this ever soppier society, tears get the job done!

The questioner, Pernold, said she'd come to the event "smitten" by Obama, but that she's now torn. "Showing that emotion — I really find it refreshing," she said.
Well, a "smitten" woman would, wouldn't she? Faithless fickle hussy!

Now many will think that the Clinton Meltdown, if indeed it melts down, started in Iowa. But, as a commenter here reminds us, it the Clinton meltdown really started when they booted Socks the Cat out of the family. Lest we forget:

Once the presidency was over, there was no room for Socks any more. After years of loyal service at the White House, the black and white cat was dumped on Betty Currie, Bill Clinton’s personal secretary, who also had an embarrassing clean-up role in the saga of his relationship with the intern Monica Lewinsky. -- Ouch! Hillary Clinton's softer image is clawed over dumped cat
Typical. Will we soon see headlines such as "Ouch! Democratic Party's softer image is melted over dumped candidate"?

It's not that usual among the corrupt and evil regimes in the world:

Papa Doc/Baby Doc;
Kim Il Sung/Kim Jong Il;
Uncle Tikriti/Saddam Hussein;
Nelson Mandela/Winnie Mandela
Juan/Evita Perron

It IS kinda weird in America....

Scrappleface says her new slogan is: "I got yer change right here, America."

Starting to? Was there ever a time when they didn't?

She's been making change for 35 years!
So let's all think about that great change-making movie 'CLERKS' and call her 'Snowball'.

I bet Socks is glad to be out of the Former First But Still Dysfunctional Family: as the Sunday Times reported in October, "As the 'first pet' of the Clinton era, Socks, the White House cat, allowed 'chilly' Hillary Clinton to show a caring, maternal side as well as bringing joy to her daughter Chelsea. So where is Socks today?

Once the presidency was over, there was no room for Socks any more. After years of loyal service at the White House, the black and white cat was dumped on Betty Currie, Bill Clinton’s personal secretary, who also had an embarrassing clean-up role in the saga of his relationship with the intern Monica Lewinsky.

Some believe the abandoned pet could now come between Hillary Clinton and her ambition to return to the White House as America’s first woman president."

Meanwhile, this photo shows Bill's red nose to perfection-- he must be playing Rudolph to Hillary's Santa.

Must be the 2007 Mets in the background of that video. Rumor has it she's been busing supporters from New York to NH, why not from Shea Stadium?
