Life in the Fast Lane

Going Down: Candide Thovex's commute is not to the job, it is the job.

Not every day requires us to come up with the Unified Field Theory or a seed of wheat that can feed five billion.

Sometimes the Creator just wants us to go out and have a good time.

Dang.

Makes me wish my 'main gyro' functioned better. :)

(I was half expecting this was a post-mortem 'Taliban-ending' Go-Pro video. Nice to know he made it.)

Let me get this straight - this is no compilation video of multiple stunts? If this is the real deal - a single run by one guy, no tricks and no BS, my GOD I think I need a drink . . . maybe AFTER I throw up!

Go Pro is a great "You are there" gadget.

As a former ski racer (circa 1945-54) this made me envious as all get out. On the best day I ever had, I could not have skied this course even without the flips, spins, and who knows what else. The skills (and equipment) of today's skiers have evolved tremendously. Makes me hope there is a thing such as reincarnation. Someday in a future life I might be able to experience that kind of mastery of the slopes.

But that was breathtaking, Gerard.

Bah. Something deeply crazy about tearing down mountains on waxed boards.

Something deeply crazy about tearing down mountains on waxed boards.

Indeed there is. You should try it sometime, it's very liberating, even if you don't do any of the insane stuff M. Thovex did in this video.
