While I think the guy is right about the contrapposto stance, to a certain extent, I wonder about his experience with women. I'm pretty sure I didn't come pre-wired with an electric ham...

I love that pose. The Cape Cod summer league inspired my use of 'contrapposto' in the following snippet of my poem, The Boys of Summmer.

. . .

When baseball players pose
like gods in flannel stripes
and stand in contrapposto
waiting for the strike that splits
the sultry air,

I’ve seen

the flesh and bone beneath the stone
and golden hair for laurel wreaths
above the chiseled jaws and gleaming teeth.
I’ve watched the girl who
rubs the pitcher’s naked arm
With ointment
as he sits with knees apart,
the muscled god of summer,
the god of summer hearts.
