Revenge of the Fly

The fly that launched a thousand photoshops.

"It's alive! ALIVE!" House fly has an encounter with President Obama "Obama broke off to swat at the intruder, which flew away. "This guy is bothering me here," Obama said, glaring at his staff. The insect was luckier than a fly that harassed Obama in 2009 while taping a television interview. "Get out of here," he said, before smacking and killing the fly. "I got the sucker," he said at the time. An animal rights group protested.

21 Else, if thou wilt not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies upon thee, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thy houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are. -- Exodus 8

The first time he has been bothered by a journalist.

Hmm. Wherever Sauron or his minions are, all the nasty critters come out to play. Chavez did say at the UN that he smelled sulfur after the Usurper spoke. If this was Oz, it would be a commonplace, but it's the USA. This has never happened to me once in the USA, but to him, twice - concidence? Third time is enemy action.

Somehow I don't think "sulfur" is the best description of the smell involved.

Beelzebub? No seriously, why are there so many flies in the White House, aren't they taking care of the place? What is attracting them, especially this time of year?

"What is attracting them?"

Rotten meat!

Reminds me of a story I heard:

Obama was campaigning in Texas and had the gall to poke fun at the local "bitter clingers". This being outdoors -- in Texas -- a number of flies were pestering the President. A cowboy said, "Looks like you're being bothered by some circle flies."

Obama said, "Circle flies? I've never heard of those."

"Well," said the cowboy, "they're called circle flies because they're usually seen circling a horse's hind quaters."

Obama said, "I see ... Wait a minute! Are you calling me a horse's ass?"

"No, sir! I have too much respect for the office of the President to refer to you in such a manner," said the cowboy.

"OK. That's good," said Obama.

After a long pause, the cowboy drawled, "It's sure hard to fool them flies, though."
