A Retro Fathers Day Fit for a King | Envisioning The American Dream Once upon a time, but not too long ago, all Dads were king. Not only for a measly third Sunday in June, but to believe the mid-century American advertiser, the head of the household was the sovereign ruler of his suburban dominion the year round.

America in 2034: People will gleefully abandon their privacy. The result will be an ever more extensive (and effective) witch hunt. Already, anonymous commentators in Sweden were (illegally) exposed by hackers, and the media showed no compunction about hounding them from their jobs. Donors will also be targeted. Already, “point and stutter” seems to be the sole occupation of American journalists.
IN KARACHI, THE DELIVERY MAN COMETH | One Friday night, a friend came over to commiserate because we’d had a horrible week. I served her a McDonald’s Happy Meal. On a tray.
Vanilla Is The Old Black Until 1841, when a twelve-year-old slave on the French-owned island of Réunion discovered how to hand-pollinate the vanilla orchid, its production was limited to the habitat of its natural pollinator, a small bee native to Veracruz, Mexico. Even today, vanilla is hand-pollinated, and, as a result, costs more than $100 per kilo, making it second only to saffron as the most expensive spice.

Hamilton man arrested again for having sex with pool float: Edwin Tobergta, 35,was arrested Wednesday morning after a witness observed him standing naked on Route 4 in Hamilton simulating sex with a pink pool floatation device. According to the police report, the witness said he was in full view of nearby businesses and passing cars.

From "King for a Day" to the Hamilton pumpkin f**ker in one generation. My how we are progressing.

The frog's tongue won't save him from the ever-warming pot he's in; he is as comfy as a blogger on a couch: "um, getting warm in here?" "Nah, get me a beer while yer up".

Apparently that "dose of socialism" goes down better with vanilla all over it, but we all know it's bad for us. Um, don't we? It sure slips in easy with all the KY and a soft couch to lay back on.

Maybe if we vote hard enough we can turn back the hands of time. The Church Street Five will keep us up late. Gary's hairdo is better than the coon 'do in the sidebar yesterday, the one that looks like a fez.

My uncle Letsgo Lozko would sometimes help the boys out, drive a car into the quarries in Lemont. He didn't want to know if there was anything or anybody in the trunk. Splash, down she goes and some poor shmoe sleeps with the fish because he got out of line. We need more of that summary justice around here. Kerry? Boehner and McConnell? Letters? Like flinging words at them will straighten them out. Uh uh: car, quarry, done.

Oh, about those wedding pix: I bet the union lasts about as long as the fire. If they carry mirrors around with them it might have a chance.

A more telling backdrop would be the burned out buildings in some of our urban wonderlands, complete with a king-size cardboard box for a wedding bed and a chorus of winos and street 'hos cheering them on. Maybe get that pumpkin f**ker to be the MC.

A pool float huh? Did the float give written consent?

Now that dude is definitely headed to be a political candidate and win Federal office. He has all the qualifications. And verifiable to boot.

This is a crime and yet we force cake makers to applaud and approve gay weddings???

Good to see Gary U.S. Bonds still performing at the quarter-century mark. No other pop-star's music screams "PARTY TIME!" quite like his does.

The disrespectful Dad/King's family: each get a punch in the face, nip that mutiny in the bud;

The vain newlyweds: they each get a good hard punch in the face. They deserve each other;

U. S. Bonds: he gets a pass, the hairdo alone is good and I like the way he sings:

The pumpkin f**ker: he gets multiple punches while being buggered with an oar.
