FWIW, the tradition goes back to the Middle Ages and has nothing to do with the KKK.

WE know, but the products of American misejimacation dating back at least three decades DO NOT know.

My favorite Klan picture is the one of Margaret Sanger, that great "liberator" of women, giving a eugenics lecture to some state's Klan's Ladies' Auxiliary.

The most jarring thing I ever did saw was a photograph in the Shawnee Mission Historical Society of my grandparents in full klan regalia at a Klan picnic. Smiles all around. I think they were enjoying some lovely fried chicken and watermelon.
