Democrat Walks Into a Bar...

sargeshriver.jpgIn 1972, campaigning as George McGovern’s running mate, Sargent Shriver made a stop in Youngstown, Ohio. Former Speaker of the House Tip O’Neill was campaigning along with him.

After a visiting with some steelworkers after their shift ended, O’Neill teased Shriver that his brothers-in-law always were too cheap to buy a round of drinks at rallies. Shriver agreed, and invited everyone to a nearby bar. He ordered beers for all and then announced “Make mine a Courvoisier!”

The second I saw the jaw dropping hilarious Yes We Scam! B.S. We Can Believe In! Obama Approval Plummets article on Hubpages I decided that American Digest's commenters should have an opportunity to read this!

Way to go, Sarge. Show that "common touch" that we peasants need to see from you. Like buying arugula in the grocery store. Yep, that's on my shopping list every week, right there next to the PBR and Wonder Bread.

You can tell what kind of town Seattle is by the ad one of the in town nurseries was running on the classical radio station this weekend highlighting starting your fall vegies.

Number one item...Arugula.
