Confess, you have yearned for years to hear "Surfin' Bird" One More Time in This Life

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present for your evening's entertainment the song that is, without a doubt, the most irritating and yet compelling song ever foisted onto an unprepared and defenseless world.

Performed by The Trashmen in 1963

Aha. Something good came out of Minnesota.
My uncle Letsgo Lozko raised bantam chickens. None of them ever surfed.

Nonsensical, silly, frivolous, very funny in a carnival sideshow sort of way. Self expression unchained. A perfect example of what has brought America, and the West, to where it is today.

One part Joey Ramone, one part Jerry Lewis.

I was a freshman in college (Carleton College)in the fall of 1963. One of the other freshmen had a big honkin' amp and speakers aimed out the window of the freshman dorm and played Surfin' Bird over and over again hours at a time. It could be heard all over campus.

Ah...... the great freshman memories. It was cool as a moose.
