Ah, style always runs in cycles.

I've got one of those in my closet. C. 1984...

I'm just curious as to why the ghillie suits appear to be on sale in Japan. I can't imagine that the JSDF needs that many patterns for itself.

Where's the kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth shattering kaboom.

A ghillie suit won't help you if they're using infrared.

I want one of those mini missiles, and a launcher that can be fitted to the luggage rack on top of my Jeep. But what I really want for it is a sensor in the nose that homes in on cRap "music" being blared so loudly from car stereos that the body panels are vibrating.

It would be cool to wear one of those suits late at night on a dark road to fool people into believing they saw Bigfoot.

Bah! Honest, law abiding citizens have nothing to fear from our civil servants and law enforcement officers. After all, they never make mistakes or abuse their powers.

amiright? or amiright?

Waltj,

One, it's Japan, and it's not like the Japanese have ever really needed rational explanations for their paraphilias.

Or two, there are places in Japan where hunting is still legal and practiced. Although it is highly restricted and expensive.

@ThomasD: Yes, I've been around Japan enough to know about the eccentricities of the place. It is unique, in ways good and not so good. I was not aware that hunting is legal in parts of Japan, however. How do they get around the ban on private firearms ownership? Have a shooting club or some other non-personal entity own and store the guns? And I'm not surprised that it's expensive.
