Thanks for bringing a mix of everything to your
Digest. Most of us have observed high IQ people being very dumb on a lot of things. I am reminded that IQ is the ability to learn; not a guarantee that one will learn or understand. Man thinks himself a god. "I matched my wits with God and decided He didn't exist."

His talk of seeing more when you're a passenger reminds me that you also see more when your filters have been reset.

I remember one winter day in the mid-1970s when my girlfriend met me at the airport - I'd just flown back from a missile sub patrol, and had spent the last three months seeing little that wasn't painted deck gray, machinery gray, or haze gray. She let me drive back, and I was noticing so much that I was interrupting our conversation to say things like, "Look! Rabbit tracks!"

She, of course, had never noticed anything I pointed out that day. Every now and then, I think of that drive, and try to open my eyes the same way again, but I don't think I've ever really succeeded all that well. Certainly, not to that extent.
