The little greenies would of course be acted out by an unstable cabal of hapless fool nationalist socialists (AKA democrats) and Putin, with a few CGI cloned environmentalists, ayatollahs, and sheiks comprising the raygun corps.
Tactical old school country music deployed by common flyover Americans would remain the heroes of the tale. After all they make bad guy head explode in real life so playing the part wouldn't be a great leap or anything.
