Serious People Know How To Respond To Serious Threats

Meanwhile, at an elementary school in Israel…

Elsewhere:It's the Culture, Stupid: Michelle Obama's Mirror: Caution: you are now entering the gun-free and sanity-free zone.

Is it the number of guns? Societal breakdown? Our culture of violence? Hollywood? While there’s probably a kernel of truth in all the usual suspects, a more likely culprit may be the policy implemented by our betters which determined that mental institutions were horror chambers that inhumanely incarcerated people simply because they didn’t conform to the standards society determined to be normal (how judgmental).

As is often the case with good intentions, the “deinstitutional movement,” initiated in 1964 and fully implemented in the 1970’s, the “solution” did not fix the root problem. There are still just as many crazy people in society, only now they live amongst us free to act out their psychotic fantasies: unless and until they confess or get caught.

A culture of political correctness that doesn’t allow you to call dangerous crazy people “insane” let alone lock them up, doesn’t wish you to point out that terrorists may be more dangerous than conservative “haters,” and wants the good guys to give up their guns to set a good example for the bad guys.

Enough mere jawing about how our kids are precious. Guard 'em like Fort Knox or send them home.

I cannot imagine being a parent of a small child this Monday morning, dropping them off at school and telling them, "you'll be fine." I could not do it. December 14th would have cured me of any delusions as to whom is being serious about my child.

There's 20 moms today with inconsolable grief. May the God of all comfort be with them.

There's 20 fathers today with dark thoughts about what justice looks like, what safety looks like, what sanity looks like. God bless them and guide them thru their darkest moment.

A lot of dead kids would be alive today if teachers and staff had been packing...

Don't follow the insanity track, either. 'nother liberal trap. Remember that all the world's queer save for me and thee. And I'm beginning to wonder about thee.

One good solution would be to hire GWT vets to sit quietly in the school office, and do absolutely nothing. Pay them extremely well. Arm them.

Of course, this will never fly, because the veteran is now the enemy, thanks to Ma Janet. She implicates veterans as the guys to watch for terrorist activity, and the first suspects in any crime. Meanwhile, the military pushes PTSD counselling, and if you even generate a file for this, guess what? You win the first guys to lose their gun rights award. Just my paranoia over-functioning, but whatever.

Great picture of the sheep dog teacher, which I assume is Israel. Our teacher force is probably nowhere near as combat ready and at this point it would take a huge effort to get them there. maybe we ought to start preferring vets for teachers, too. Nah. makes too much sense.

This: http://bit.ly/XqERuF .

Meli took cover inside a nearby store. He never pulled the trigger. He stands by that decision.

"I'm not beating myself up cause I didn't shoot him," said Meli. "I know after he saw me, I think the last shot he fired was the one he used on himself."

I like this Israeli approach. To get a teaching certificate, you have to qualify in handguns. There is recurring training. In every classroom, there is a gun safe. Even the students will behave themselves more, knowing the teacher has a loaded firearm.

Frick and frack, since we entrust the safety of our children to these guys, they should be made to take that charge seriously. If you're not prepared to defend your students, teachers, quit and go do something less dangerous.

And think of it this way. If the principal of a school does not trust a particular teacher with a firearm, that teacher probably shouldn't be one.

If this somehow happened in Israel and the shooter was a palestinian, the press and posters all over the web would blame Israel.
Abbas would call him a hero and name a street after him.

absolutely! makes calls for more gun control and repeal the second amendment.

because, as you know, it works so well for China and Japan.

Only a country that has to live with constant threats to all of its citizens including school children, knows how best to protect them. Had the US learned from its ally, it could have prevented 9/11 easily! But instead the States is busy condemning Israel for building houses in its capital, Jerusalem.
There is nothing in this world than allowing a tragedy to happen that could have been prevented.
