Here Comes Everybody

I'm not fan of the IOC or of China's totalitarian state, but I gotta say that the Chinese really know how to put on a parade. It's made a bit easier when you can draft your entire population at will, but impressive just the same.

One of the commentators mentioned something about the ceremony representing the three major philosophies of China: Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism.

Hmmm.... seems to me they left one out....

It reminds me of one of the periods in ancient earth history from Michael Moorcock's "End Of Time" books. The Tyrant Director Period was known for reenacting things like World War XVI.

Hmmm. A one party totalitarian government using capitalism as its economic engine. Didn't the host of the 1936 Olympics use that formula? Nice work IOC!!!
