Watcher's Council Picks for the Week That Was: Yon on the Whispers of War and Soccer Dad on the Fog of AGW Lore

Weasel Watchers' Weekly Wound-Up Wesults Ware Wout @ Watcher of Weasels and we're not hunting wabbits.

In the lead in the council part of the contest we find Soccer Dad. His Cry havoc and let slip the fog of (agw) lore reminds us that, "if you claim that that anthropogenic global warming will cause BOTH an increase in fog AND a decrease in fog, you aren't making a scientific claim."

First in the non-council winners is Michael Yon's Whispers takes you into Afghanistan, but not to the heart of the fighting, but into another heart, into a story "about the people who care for our troops, wounded correspondents, and many other people, day in, day out."

Other subjects taken up by the council and friends include Obama's Jihad Friendly Choices, whether or not Jon Stewart knows squat about socialism, why the US is suddenly supporting offshore drilling in Brazil, and why Scott Brown deserves a pass on the Jobs bill.

Especially compelling is Mere Rhetoric's illustrated Aww... Glut Of Gaza Products Putting Small-Time Smugglers Out Of Business | Mere Rhetoric, and Walter Mead's evisceration of the mainline churches in Sunday Jeremiad: Petty Prophets of the Blue Beast.

That's just a sample. Full roster after the jump.
