RightNetwork to Launch Wednesday

Just as an aside this holiday Monday, I am working long days, as is everyone else on the RightNetwork team, to bring this new site, RightNetwork, online this Wednesday.

As it is with all launches we won't have everything live that we will have soon after, but it's a great team and we will have something available that you may well enjoy. And more on the way.

For now, this is how it is going behind the scenes:

Me? I think I'm the old military guy at the end. The look says it all.

I am a American former US national Champion Reining horse trainer. I would love to see the America I knew before traveling the world for ten years, back!

Human rights, dignity or the ability to sell my God given talent has been stripped from me. I really pray for a return to the values that made this country great.

The ability to rise up if you are one of the best in the world at something and be proud of my country and government.

But I am sorry to save that my return home has been anything but happy. I even have a recording from Rin Wyden's office that shows the true face of the government we are all bound under at the moment.

I would really HOPE to CHANGE that and have new senators and congressmen.

I know you have been quite busy, but Mrs. Effingby is quite happy that you have been keeping up the Digest. Thanks, and Wednesday can't come soon enough.

Gerard, if you're the old codger in that video, I would hazard a guess that while confidence is high, you have your fears.

Posted by: Jewel at September 6, 2010 9:15 PM

Thank God for old codgers; what would we do without their signal apprehension born of bitter experience. But the anticipation is invigorating, notwithstanding that frisson of fear and I echo Jewel's gratitude that Digest has not been neglected midst all the frenzy of the new project. The very best of luck with the launch, Mr VDL; we shall disseminate the news widely on this side of the Pond. While still reflecting on the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain, the Battle of America is about to begin. Never in the field of human history .... Scramble!

[Only this time, it is not the wail of the air-raid sirens that chills my heart, but the Muezzin's call].

Take heart, Gerard. As one of my military heros once said, "When they get into trouble they send for the sons of bitches.” Fleet Admiral Ernest J. King.

King was an interesting guy...probably the least known and least remembered of WWII naval heros.

"Conspicuous in almost every naval field, Admiral King’s service jacket overflowed with accomplishments in ordnance, engineering, logistics, destroyers, submarines and naval aviation. Adding even more luster to his reputation - or maybe out of bad-tempered stubbornness - he earned naval wings at age forty-eight, and then commanded aircraft carrier Lexington for two years..." -- Historyarticles.com

Not one to put up with others' guff, even King's own daughter said, although out of his earshot, "he is the most even-tempered man in the Navy; he's always in a rage." According to FDR, King "shaves with a blowtorch."

Give 'em Hell, Gerard!

Is the launching at midnight or at sunrise?

I'll be waiting...

Posted by: newton at September 7, 2010 7:20 PM

Arthur - service comes in many different forms; stupidity, however, is always pretty much the same. Hacking at people about the former just proves that you are the very definition of the latter. Especially when Gerard's reference was probably more to the maturity and skepticism level and less to the career choice of the guy with all the salad on his jacket. Lighten up, will you? Liberal humorlessness is becoming a pandemic and you are obviously a carrier.

Launching along towards sun-up I suspect.

Posted by: vanderleun at September 7, 2010 8:12 PM

Ah, goody gumdrops, then. Just as I am getting home from work. And sleepy. Darn. Hopefully, my insomnia will kick in. Oh hell, wait a minute...sun up east coast time, or sun up left coast time?

Posted by: Jewel at September 7, 2010 8:30 PM

And getting paid, well, for all the hanging he does. Jealous much?

Posted by: raincityjazz at September 8, 2010 4:06 PM

Congrats, Gerard! Looks like RightNetwork's launch has made Drudge. It links to the ABC news story. As Joe Biden would say, "This is a Big F#*!%ng Deal!
Godspeed...

My initial gut reaction is "winner." Conflicting messages about cable availability, however. ABC news said Verizon FIOS would carry it "on Demand" (not on yet); others say Internets only? I certainly hope it works out Gerard, Lord knows the nation needs the balance this promises. USA!

Best of luck with your new venture, Gerard. I wish you success.

Arthur, I do believe you have a serious man crush on the handsome Vanderleun.
