When you have a family member with the disability, you get to recognize the signs very quickly. I can spot autistic symptoms in people who have never been diagnosed. I myself have some symptoms, but I was just a weird kid when I was young, and taught myself coping mechanisms.
Barron Trump is NOT autistic. You can see that from a mile away. He's just a quiet, shy kid who's unfamiliar with big crowds and media lights. He also has not yet learned not to react to those unfamiliar stimuli: he hears noises from the audience and he turns to look toward them; that's why he seems disengaged in the main event, like Dad giving a speech. First of all, the subject is pretty complicated for a young kid to take an interest in, and secondly, he's got flashing lights and loud noises erupting from all directions. Lots of grownups get a deer-in-the-headlights look when they're suddenly put in a situation like that. I don't know why people expect an 11-year old to be a polished performer like his father.
