On Not Voting: "Not choosing is a choice" [Bumped]

In a binary political choice a vote cast either way increases the “weight” of the party voted for in the case of victory or in the case of defeat.

Either way, the more people that vote (participate) the more chance there is of a balancing of power in order to keep the more powerful in check. The greater the participation, regardless of who the vote is cast for, the more heft there is in the electorate. In voting one does not really vote for him or against her, or for them or against those, but first and foremost for us.

Since political offers, options, circumstances, and environments can alter rapidly it is best to keep the overall participating electorate as big as possible in every election. Both parties, each in their own way, have an interest in dissuading the other party’s voters from participating. If both parties are effective in doing this either may win but what is really reduced is the overall electorate. Thus, not participating in any election decreases the size of the electorate and thus doth increase the suckitude of the power structure between elections.

Not choosing is a choice. Through not voting you choose to increase the overall power of the elite political structure that rules you.

The only way I can do this is on a straight ticket. No way in hell will I personally tick, pick, click, or prick beside Trump's name.

Here is WA state it matters not who or if I vote. Nothing I ever approved of has ever passed or been voted in. Its a joke.

Voting is an act of endorsement for a corrupt piece of political shit.

A very amateurish attempt at a guilt trip.

Votists are accomplices to the criminal politicians they vote for.

All will be held accountable soon.

Vote for Fraudster 1 or Fraudster 2 is to condone them both. It is really a violation of civic duty to vote for a person you know to be unqualified...and the fact that this year both major party candidates are unqualified does not exempt us from that duty.
There is never a binary choice: to not vote or to vote for a minor candidate is to declare that you may not have the power to stop the fraud, but that you do have the power to refuse your consent to the fraud---and you are exercising that power. You are voting in a way that decreases the power of the elites.

But it doesn't decrease the effect of the wayward power in your life. Pain, is pain, and, I have children I would love to spare a marxist future. I live near the border, and Hillary has promised to open it WIDE. She has also made big plans to outlaw our guns. We are all felons now, just wait until they take our guns. It is going to bloody and ugly. I will be voting against that.

Yeah but logic meh. I gain acceptance and a vastly greater potential for accumulation of cold hard cash if I bullshit along, so what's the point of not doing so?

Old folks don't use their every breath in my praise?

Comfortable don't demand I risk all to prove my worth for their desires?

Of course God is why, but having been taught hate, God isn't
as near today's youth as He was for yours and mine.

We can all change that. Not Trumplike change yet change nonetheless.

Yet Jeffrey you support giving the means of death to Stalin right? Well-fulfilled means of death Jeffrey.

You cannot second guess FDR and don't you ever allow yourself to think you may some day be able.

After all the success of America before, but especially after, WWII folks still think it intelligent tomtearvdown the foundations of that success after the fact when the principles are dead.

Create utopia or stop bitching about other's failure to do so as if the criticism is anything other than atheism trying to smack down everything not supporting any random ego's rationalizing Buckley's influence compared to our lack therof and why (Buckleyesgue Latin Inserted Here) you just aren't lucky enough to have any lasting influence unlike Buckley.

Leslie said: "We are all felons now....", and I agree.

It's what you do with that info that matters.
Leslie appears to believe extending that felonious charge is the way to go.

I on the other hand make it a rule of life to create as much distance between myself and the real criminals as possible, and never assist them in any way.

And I don't buy guns from people committed to helping the criminals.

It is kind of hard to distance yourself when they are allowing them in by the millions. I will pray for you, Ghost. I know you think we are "assholes" but, I will not have Hillary on my head. I will not.

The hardest part is convincing oneself.
This means breaking down mental walls.
Most are unwilling.

Speak plainly. What is your intention? You really think we are all so stupid? Nice that you can live "away" from the world. I guess us poor foolish suckers who live in communities for generations, will just have to live with what is thrust upon us because others only care about themselves. I am NO lover of government. I avoid it in every possible way. But, there it is. It isn't going away anytime soon. We need time, and, the time has run out if Hillary is elected.

Posted by: Leslie at May 28, 2016 11:35 AM

The time has already run out, many haven't realized it yet. They will, soon. Communities are prisons.

Leslie, I'm with you. I perfectly understand ghost's point of view, but I suspect that he thinks that everybody should just be him, which is on the face of it an absurdity.

I didn't vote or register for 40 years, on the theory that it just encourages the bastards. That kind of adolescent posture is a luxury we just can no longer afford, and like Pat Condell, I'll vote "Against" every chance I get.

Posted by: Rob De Witt at May 29, 2016 10:24 AM

You cannot vote "against" when the would be king makers own every candidate in the contest.

Why do you think voting is often mandatory in communist countries?

Why does the U$A regime du jour insist that you exercise your "right"?

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery.

Think outside the box you are conditioned to behave in.

"Through not voting you choose to increase the overall power of the elite political structure that rules you."

...unless every ballot choice represents that elite political structure.

What is the effect of voting then?
