If today's editors of the New York Times were in charge in 1943

the headline is actually quite apt. At that point, the Nazis had decided to ship the 50,000 or so surviving Warsaw Jews to labor camps in the Lublin province of eastern Poland...not the Treblinka death camp. Which is precisely where the 35,000 survivors of the "uprising" - which no more than 600 Jews played any part in - wound up. The boy with his arms raised was part of a group of Jews taken to the Hotel Pawiak where, given foreign passports, they were eventually exchanged for German nationals interned by the allies. A few years back he announced himself as a dentist in New Jersey. All this aside, yeah, the NYT is a fleabag.

WOW! I wonder if any Jews of "fat cat" status in HOLLYWOOD, appeased
NAZI propaganda editing "interests", just to insure cash flow of film distribution rights in Germany?

"the headline is actually quite apt"

Oh really, David Luck? And with the extermination program running 24/7, why should any Jew believe the chimera of Nazi mercy?

the extermination program did not run "24/7", and "mercy" doesn't enter into it. Most of the remaining Warsaw Ghetto Jews (the collaborationist Judenraete stratum, and the rest of the upper crust), plus the tens of thousands of docile workers and their families employed in the Toebbens and Schulz industrial works, stood carefully aside from the Uprising and were then sent to several Lublin district labor camps where they survived for another six months. When these camps were finally liquidated - on 3/4 November, 1943 - all 42,000 male and female prisoners went, indeed, to the execution pit; but the issue was one of local security, not a programmatic "Final Solution": Jews in several of the camps had begun stockpiling weapons and made contact with communist partisans operating in the vicinity. In fact the Nazi regime wobbled between extermination and labor utilization of Jews, and this is one important reason why about a million of the 4.5 million European Jews who came under Axis control survived the war

And let us not forget the other "expendables.' From tabletmag.com, 7-31-2014, "Remembering the Sinti and Roma of Auschwitz," only 5,000 Gypsies survived from their pre-war population in Germany of 50,000.
Truly a decimation, similar to the remnant percentage of German Jews.

And the genetically mentally damaged helpless, murdered by doctors, where is the memory, the anger, the reality of "Never Again?"

In the East they talk of group karma. What hate-filled others seed and grow, we will reap in sorrow as consequence for our unjustifiable apathy.

It ain't funny, even as a parody. Like making wheelchair jokes.

Schadenfreude vibes loser.
